Thanks to Fernando for taking time away from his job at Scripps Institute in San Diego and his family to trek across the country to speak at LIRA and actually giving two presentations.
It was a lightly attended meeting, especially for a saturday meeting, but for those that were there I'm sure they enjoyed seeing the talks on the acro eating flatworms and captive raised acropora spawning events in his tank, especially the superb video of both.
Some nice frags were also available at bargain prices in the auction, and thanks to Russ at Dowling and Bill from Bill's Reef for their donations, and to Larry for taking in the cash.

Many thanks to Fernando for coming to visit us, and giving not one, but two presentations :)

Also thanks goe to Joe for donating frags from Atlantis for the auction ;)

I am sorry I missed it. I had to go to California for 2 days for a meeting.

I am already looking forward to the November meeting.

Kudos to Fernando. I have to agree it was an interesting topic. and awesome to see a video of the Acro Eating Flat worm and its camouflage. AEFW have been reported more and more lately. It was amazing to find that AEFW eggs were still present on the dead coral structure from SCRIPPS that was power washed and left outside for weeks. It has been a hot topic on Manhattan Reefs bulletin board. You can see more photos of the AEFW's and their eggs on M.R. bulletin board.

I had to miss most of the 2nd presentation but what I did see I thoroughly enjoyed. :D
THANKS FERNANDO!!!!!!!!

Ahh, that's right... you left JUST BEFORE he started handing out all the FREE frags from his tanks ;)

I enjoyed the presentation a lot. Thanks Fernando!
