Team RC
Just wanted to say thanks to Mel and Bent for opening up their house for the meeting. I had a great time.
It was good to see some fellow reefers again and to meet some people I haven't met before:)
The tank looks great...you are very brave woman for letting that crew mess with your brand new skimmer:lol:

Chris

Mel, thanks for hosting...Drew and I loved your tank (and the critters in it), and Drew had a good time playing with your cat, too! The chili and cookies were great! I'd love to have the recipes for the chili and the cookies....esp the ones with dried cherries(?) in them...great meeting! Hope the skimmer ends up working better for you!

Whoo hoo!!!!!!!!! Had a particularly good time at this meeting Melly... :D Thanks for hosting!!!! You're the best... Sorry bout messing up your skimmer... lol Hopefully Larry can fix it this time...

Hey Mel... Here's what those gold stars morphed into for me... May be totally different zoos, but they looked like yours at one time... Not sure if you can make out the red ring in them or not... Best pic I could get of them...

Don...it's skimming...just not necessarily quite as well as before. But it's fine though...we have a couple of other things to try, and Matt is ordering me a new...well I don't know what the name of it is...that plastic piece we cut up. So I'll have it as a back up.

Randy...that's neat. Guess what though? You freaking jinxed my purple monster frag. It was doing great...polyps out and everything...then you have to comment on it and last night...fell into the brain. When I found it there was no skin left on it at all!! Completely white. Sucka$$.

Awww man... That does sucka$$... Sorry for the jinxie... Maybe in a decade or so, mine will be grown out enough to give you a frag... LOL :D

Brent was like "you are nuts! If I paid $50 fora frag I'd glue that sucker down as quickly as I could." I glued the dang thing to a rock...I just glued it to a small rock since I wasn't sure where I wanted to put it. Then I never glued it to a bigger rock...which was my downfall.

Oh the RPEs are recovering just fine thank you!

But yeah...I am sure you will all relate to this...the only reason I even have the dang brain is because Brent likes them...and wouldn't you freaking know it...it kills my purple monster. Dang it.

We all have things in our tanks because our spouses like them.

I'm sure you will be able to find another frag of PM around here somewhere Mel;)

Just tell Brent to be glad you didn't pay what most people pay for them:lol:

Yeah... Ashley likes Xenia... :( Least it won't kill anything of mine... :) Well, unless it smothers it... :p

Chris...what do people usually pay for them?

Mike...I'm not really having many troubles really. I lost my frag and my simmer isn't functioning that well right now...no big deal...normal stuff.

Good lord...xenia? Oh man...I have already had to put my foot down about a few things I don't want to have in my tank and that would be one of them!

Real PM's typically go for at least $120 for a very small frag. I saw several sell for $600 a few years ago...also very small frags. You should be able to trade for another ;)

Chris

Maybe you should consider trading a rather large brain coral... lol ;)

The xenia is kept at bay by frequent prunings... Well, that and I have a corner designated for it alone... :D

And on a side note, the Tubs I got from you are doing great this time... I told you it was poor packaging last time... lol :p

Oh that's great Randy! I'm glad they will be establishing themselves in someone else's tank nearby. Maybe Mike can get his to do well and we can have several of us with them.

Chris, I would like to get another frag of it but I'm not into paying tons of money for corals, hah hah. It only ever rarely happens that I buy expensive stuff and the only reason I even bought that one was because I had all that cash in my pocket after the frag swap and absolutely NO frags to go home with.

Hmmm, had nothing to do with that cider, eh Mel... :p Pocket full of cash and a buzz at a frag swap isn't necessarily a great combination... :lolspin:

OT: What hand do Wedding Bands go on???

Mel,
That's why I said you should be able to TRADE for another;)
You have a few things I might like to get a piece of at some point....maybe I have a few things you might like as well.

Chris:)

Randy...yeah well I can logically think through not buying corals even when buzzed at a frag swap. That was very fun btw!

Wedding bands traditionally go on the left hand unless you are like Greek orthodox and Brent and I believe those guys wear them on the right hand for a year and then switch (not super sure).

Chris...you have stuff from my tank whenever you want. It's no big deal at all...just let me know.
