Thanks Shane!

Reef Bass

colors and textures
I would like to thank Shane for hosting the meeting last night and doing such a fine job on the grill with Grant, even though he had just experienced some significant hardware issues.

Your tank is looking great. Keep up the good work. May the gods of stability smile upon you. Congrats again on becoming a home owner too!

Thanks to those who did show for attending. With a few exceptions, members in the Santa Rosa area seemed to not make the drive. I realize we have had several consecutive south county meetings, but the reefing force is strong in Petaluma at the moment with a new store, new members and new tanks. Next month we'll meet in Santa Rosa.

And thanks also to Mary for donating back not only a frag of an item she had won in a past raffle (that's how it's supposed to work people!), but some zoo and pocillopora (sp?) frags too.

And welcome to Mike. We sent him home with a few things.

Thanks for having us Shane it was good to see your setup. I think you have convinced me to get a controller finally. Great job on getting everything ready while at the same time dealing with all the probs your tank decided to give you. We still have to figure out a day for you to come to my place and especially since you get a frag of your choice for the salt you gave me. BTW it took me a while but I finally got the visual of you buying two 5's of salt at 6th st. and walking down the street with them to get on the bus home afterwards, I actually laughed outloud at that one, very funny. Thx again Grant

Ken,

Good point about the meeting location. I was watching my daughter didn't want to drive that far with her. See you all at the June meeting.

Thank guys for everyone who showed up. I had Murphy’s Law (everything that can go wrong went wrong) at its best....between 3 bulbs going out, cleaning the skimmer about an hour before the meeting and forgot to tighten it back down which lead to water getting on my gen-x40. The pump smokes now when i turn it on. I took it apart and shot a bunch of WD-40 in it but it didn't work. I'm calling the company today to see what they can do for me. Almost a brand new pump. jeepers!
As for the house, by the time we do the next tank tour it will be kickin! The backyard looks like a war zone from Saturday on....i tore up the deck, the stairs, cleaned out the (future man cave), cut down 4 small trees, tore down a bunch of old dry wall....now it's just time and money from here on out.
Also on the list is a new laptop the old one is infected with virus to the third degree, I can't even get on the internet. So it will still be a while till i get some quality pics up. But i have been taking lots of pics.

See ya all next month

PS: If anyone wants to see the tank that wasn't at the meeting i need a week to get it back up and going. It just amazes me that the tank has ran flawless for almost 3 months and then the few hours before the meeting it's like bombs go off....figures right.

Oh and Grant, when i pick up salt, i drive into the city. But i still have to walk a good 2-3 blcoks with the salt in each hand. It's not easy. tell me what you think of the coralife. Oh an what was the name of the coral you gave me? It's very cool, it has changed shape a few times already.

Shane,

Sorry I missed the meeting but at least the Giants won the game I went too.

I would love to see the tank when ready and I will take some photos and post them for you as long as when I take my computer in today it doesn't cost me an arm and a leg!

Congrats on buying the house, I still love Western Petaluma even though I am on the East now. I know the feeling about backyards, I have been working on mine for a while now and I just need to finish the brick patio and the pond. Yeah just that :lmao:

See you guys at the next meeting I guess it's time to give those northerners a break and head towards them. It was quite a run for us Petalumans.

Craig and Ken you guys need to pick out a spot for my pond and tell me where to start digging. That is the next adventure! Got any good books or forums for ponds?

Craig, my buddy fixes comps, it's his job, I'm sure it will be cheaper than anything you get. If you’re interested let me know. He works for a company but has his own business too. He has re-built my comp several times but an 8+ year old computer just is not up to date anymore so I need to get a new one. I have Works 2003! haha not even Word 2003. It's not compatible with Word.

Also do you have the contact for that buddy of yours that dose bonsai? I inherited a very nice old 30+ year bonsai that needs wiring and trimming. I'm nervous to touch it. Anyone know bonsai stuff? The bonsai club was a bit pricy and too much commitment for me, I'll probably get back in some day.

Hey Shane hope your tank settles down. The coral is an alien eye favia. give me a call when you want me to look at the house with you ,re: kitchen ,etc. The salt worked out just fine nice clean mix with good test results, I won't be using that Red Sea stuff again I must have gotten a bad batch or something. Let me know when you want to swing by my place and pick a frag and see my setup . BTW Craig I was trying to call you but couldn't find your phone number, really sorry about that ,please pm me with the info as I do want to see your tank and give some ideas about your kitchen etc
