That awesome showpiece

We are looking for images for an upcoming Reef Slides article. We want to see your best showpiece clam. Please submit one or two images only; this is your BEST clam, not every clam in your tank. It can be your favorite one, and of course the better the picture quality, the more likely we'll use it. In a nutshell, we want to see the one beast that your reef is centered around, the one that you love to show off.

By replying in this thread, you are submitting your image. Your username is your photo credit unless you state what you'd like the photo credit to read instead (real name perhaps, or both real & username). :)

Let's see what you've got. There is no limit to how many people can enter. Usually Reef Slides has 80 to 120+ images, and if we get too many, we can do a Part A and Part B in separate issues. :D

TJ, those are great clams and a nice picture. Let's see them in your reef and not on eggcrate. ;)

That's the only place they are for now, they are in the reef... on eggcrate. :P

I keep baby clams on mag racks to keep them away from potential predators.

Actually I have one shot of 2 of my other maximas in my display, and one of my violet crocea but they aren't very good photos. I can try to take some more tonight.

This is my dersa clam in my 33g. If you want a high res pic just let me know and I'll email it to you. I don't know where to host anything that doesn't downsize the pics

this is my new baby crocea... tiny, but so beautiful, he's becoming the center of our attention!

I can't wait to see the other pics, I love clams so much!

cheers,

Are you sure that's only 6" ???

no it's just a guess.. could be bigger than that, i don't have a ruler i can submerge to get an accurate measurement.

All of my clams are my best clams so I find it hard to chose just two pic's so here are a few

Wow, what a show!! Anybody have tips on how to get those guys onto the live rock up high? They are always pushing themselve off when they extend thier foot for me or my fish are always knocking them around so that they can't attach up on the rocks, OK well, maybe that's my problem, right but any tricks to keep their foot in the right orientation and get them to attach up high on the rock as I see them in some of these photos?
