The 630 Build

Here are some pics. The glare from the sun and reflection of the windows make them pretty crappy. I started the rock work on the two back corners. The rock is covering 2 1" closed loop outlets. I thought hiding the pipe work would have been more difficult but it wasn't that bad.

Maybe I missed it in a pic. How are you controlling the drains in the overflow. If I see it right all three go to one pipe. There are no valves to restrict one. Will this not create a lot of noise from water gurgling?

As a Christian, I try to live by 1 Corinthians 10:31; "œwhatever you do, do all to the glory of God." My goal is to display the Heavenly Father's omnipotent craftsmanship through my tank. I wish for non believers to walk away questioning how evolution could have possibly created something as beautiful as the creatures we display in our tanks. So my question is: improbable accident or miraculous craftsmanship?

Great tank with fantastic dimensions. I don't, however, get your intended purpose as to get non believers to walk away questioning evolution. I find it much more fantastically wonderful to look at an ecosystem like the reef and enjoy it beauty without using it to fulfill my agendas. I prefer my box to have windows...

Again, beautiful house and I'm sure the tank will be great when it's done. Looking forward to completion and keep up the updates!

No agenda, I just wanted it to be thought provoking. That's all.

It may be loud. But its not a huge concern since its enclosed in its own room. We will see. If its a problem then I can change it up.

That single manifold drain will not work the way you want it to. You need to split the drain pipes, you also need to run them in a herbie stand pipe system, then it will work because you will be able to independently adjust flow rates of on the full siphon drains

Also, use a much bigger connector pipe between the fuge and sump. 4" would be best.

I have my 180 in its own room and just the waterfall into the overflow is load enough and that is with the water level set an inch below the teeth. Just my experience.

Looking into reef tank and enjoying its beauty is something that will never get old to me. What I find fascinating that it is all created by Gods hands.

Job 12 verses 8&9
"Speak to the earth and let it teach you; and let the fish of the sea declare to you."
"Who among these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this."

To each their own I guess...

Have you looked into Bean Animal's overflow design?

Thank you John for the invite to see your set up. It is looking nice even though it is a work in progress, but you are slowing getting to where you can place corals from your 220 gallon. You need to post more pictures of the finished look of the cabinetry around the tank and the plumbing. It is awesome to see in person!!!!!

I think I have a cool design on my stand pipes that helped tremendously with the noise. The top is capped, but with two air line tubes stuck into the cap and going up and out of the box and secured above the tank. It takes all the resonate noise out of the overflows, and I can barely hear them now unless I'm behind the tank in the fish room. The top 90 degree can handle additional flow rate if needed and/or serves as a backup in case the bottom gets something clogging it.
