;)

So there are no out of the box options that differ from the competition (The items you listed require additional hardware)?

:) Yes there are, most the "built in functions" of the ProfiLux do not come with other controllers you have to buy modules, all you need to open the functionality up for the built in functions of profiLux is get at worst a sensor or a cable, not $100++ modules.

I beleive the software for some controller cost $75 and others has none at all

Software is Free with profiLux

Can other controllers make a dosing pump dose in ML (highly imprtant feature) as far as I know the answer is no as they do not have dedicated doser functionalities.

Has other controllers got built in AWC ATO and Leak alarm? Maybe some of this but not all.

Do they have programmable logic to cover every possible control scenario?

Can they control oxygen, humidity, conductivity, air temp?

So yes there are plenty of added benefits. And its not all about what it can do as a stand alone but more what functionality is there to utilise as your demands grow within control enviroments, why restrict the potential of what is possible? You may not want to dose something in ML now, but what if you decided to switch to mineral dosing or vodka or Zeo lith?

What if you decided to buy Tunze controllable pumps? of hydor variable pumps, or Vortech (release date soon)?

Think of the ProfiLux as a controller for life then you will start to see the benefits. if you want a basic control functioned controller and not worried about the possibility of restricting your future requirements then mabe its not a product for you. I am also talking about finctions that are available now not promised and still waiting, other than vortech everything spoken about you could have running now.

it is also very hard to compare profilux with other brands due to the way it is designed and built so you "never" have to replace the controller, thats a massive plus point

Maybe read this thread it covers all what you ask really.

If you want assured reliability and not ever have to worry about replacing your controller when technology moves forward then buy profiLux its as simple as that. :)

This is the main reason why I switched from my AquaController. I couldn't be happier with the quality of ProfiLux.
