The anti corner tank. Ive got a quote, just no house

Here is just an idea of a tank I already have a quote for. The only changes that the manufacturer made was to make the outter ring of 1.5" acrylic. I also have not decided on a full depth overflows or a coast to coast type on the ends. The circulation plan involves a closed loop that draws on one side and delivers to the other side, which switches direction each 6 or so hours giving the tide effect. The raised platform within the tank will allow easy access and allow me to actually sit, within my aquairum. My difficulty is the lighting because the tank ends up being about 22 feet long on the outter diameter Please post any comments and suggestions.

Thanks, Todd

I think its a great idea. The "poor man's" version would just be a U-shaped tank.

Makes maintenance easier as you would be able to better reach all area of the tank from the middle...and as you said, a very cool viewing location!

closed loop is really the only way to run that tank, it is a very unique size and shape and I would love to see it once it is complete. I agree that lighting will be a challange, as will many other aspects of creating a unique tank.

I think that oly way to light this is with a DIY/Custom LED array. I am looking to build one for my 220G and through my limited research am amazed at how versatile the LEDs can be. Check out the DIY forum there are some guys over there that are building some great LED arrays

so what would you guys suggest for overflows to the sump? External, internal? and if internal full or partial depth?
