I thought I'd share. These guys decided to pose with their prey in tow. Both are carrying asterina's. However, only the large one is visible.

Cool pix. What is considered too many asterina before considering a purchase of these shrimp?

Waking up in the morning and not being able to see through the glass due to all the asterinas.

I mean, I've heard... :o

They are pretty cool. It's really neat to see them strike a defensive pose when the fish investigate.

Their biggest drawback is they only eat starfish tube feet.

True. However you can get a couple of junky starfish e.g. chocolate chip, and keep them in your sump. Cut off a leg about every ten days and you are good to keep them.

seriously? that is the craziest thing I've heard today! lol. I'll let them stay in your tank then... unless I have a starfish problem :lmao:

How's this for considering to many. They were wiped out in a very short time by a Harlequin Shrimp. I now keep chocolate chip starfish in my sump to feed him one leg at a time.
