Wrasse junkie
As some of you may know I recently got a naoko's fairy and have introduced him after 10 days in the social acclimation box. He is an amazing fish! He is bold and beautiful however he dosent put up with anyones crap either. He swims in circles with other wrasses and shows them down.He has done it so far with a female c. Pylei and a male p. McCroski, and if they back off then he just peacefully leaves, but if not he strikes with the quickness! The Pyle's has a bit of a damaged tail fin. It is quite impressive and I have never seen a show like that before, just the usual chase, ect. but the "circle" thing is something new to me, how bout the rest of you serious wrasse keepers?

he's winning the fight but he is really chill. no real beefs or anything. well see in a few days. but watching them circle was interesting

friend has one and it is more to the aggressive side, more so then the pylie

NYReefNoob was referring to my Naoko's...it is aggressive, and has done the 'circle/tornado/whirlpool' thing a few times.
About 3 weeks ago when I released 6 Vanuatu wrasses into my 450g DT, after 3 days in the acclimation box...the Naoko's went head to head with the new Condi... I didn't want to lose either wrasse, so I grabbed my tongs, just to separate them! They were so into their 'stare-down' contest, that I was able to catch the condi with the tongs. Since I didn't want to squeeze the fish, I quickly grabbed a net, and was able to IMMEDIATELY net both fish at 1 time! I swear, they never even noticed me or the net!
I replaced the Naoko's into the DT, where he has NOT bothered any of the other new wrasses... and the condi is back in QT, till I re-home him.

nice. I think they will settle in. i just released a hooded pair as well. we will see how everything goes. Everything should be fine but well see.

3 of the Vanuatu wrasses were Hooded, (1 pr. and a varient)...half the size of the Naoko's, but get along fine!
