The building of my 350 G tank

Here is the water reservoir for the DT... we have a Japanese pump and the water change should take only ten minutes...

The plumbing will be done today and we are already making salt water to fill this baby up... since we have to cycle the tank and it will be 3 days to fill it up... I am not so concerned with the finish of the plumbing... I will post more photos later with the set up...

What is the fitting in the wall? Looks like it's behind a wall plate?

My RO set up is in my laundry... I have one going to the salt water reservoir, one going to the other tanks RO reservoir, and the other going straight to the auto-top off in the sump area which I had made special fit with acrylic... There are valves everywhere for safety and I also got a emergency shutoff valve from LFS. I have not decided on the auto-top-off system yet... but I need to get one... any ideas would be welcomed...

Sweet build, this is one to watch, subscribed.

Love the tank dimensions! What are the specs?

Great sump as well.

I think you will really enjoy those lights, I know I like mine.

I went with a Tunze water level controller 5107 which drives a Cobalt MJ1200 powerhead as I had problems with several Tunze osmolator pumps.

Hello. the fitting on the wall is for the RO water to come straight from my RO unit in the laundry room. the other one is for the water change so it goes up to the attic and down in then garage where we make the water. I have a valve in the sump area that i open to pump the water from the reservoir into the tank by taping into the return pipes. then when i am done with the water change i open another valve that Pumps from the sump into the return. I will type the procedure so anyone can follow just in case. it will be all labeled when done:-))
thank you and follow it :-)

I have two pipes coming theough the wall with a bulkhead. one is for the water change and the other has an RO fitting for the direct conection from my RO unit in the laundry to my auto top off reservoir in the sump area. I had the reservoir made of acrylic to fit behind the sump so it is all acrylic 30 long 17 tall (so it would not take from the sump view) and 7 wide and it goes under the pipes behinf the sump. I will put a picture of it later. We are having the RO water coming into a emergency shut off valve that if it get wet it turns off automaticaly and it turn off the auto top off conection to the RO unit in the laundry. Plus we also have a shot off valve in the laundry as you can see in previous pictures. i will lable things and retake the photos.
The tank is 96.5" x 36.5" x 24". i have two inches sand bad, and about 350 Pounds of dead rocks. i killed all the rocks to make sure i do not have uptasia. DEAD SAND AND DEAD ROCK... no uptasia this time.
i have a 55 G and a 90 quarantine tanks. the 55 for corals and the 90 for fishes. the other tank 72 G will be for my old fishes as I want all ne fishes baby in the tank to grow together so they get along:))) hopefully.

oh the tank was build by DSA DEEP SEA AQUATICS. i really like it so far. great quality

thank you for following along and yes I am in the Valrico area...

Hello more up to date information. Behind the sump there is the acrylic water top off reservoir. It has a black lid and it will be installed soon behind the sump. The water will come from the wall into the reservoir from the RO unit...

I put a rubber mat from Home Depot and put it on the bottom of the cabinet to protect it against water. I will have water alarms everywhere too... I had a 120 G tank leak on me badly once... that is why I am so scared about it..

There is a dedicated water line to the refugium with a gate valve to control the flow... the last red gate in the picture...
QUESTION... when I cycle the tank do I get the refugium cycled at the same time? SHOULD I use MUD or sand??

FIRST WATER INTO THE TANK... direct from the reservoir in the garage... that is how we will do water changes... so exciting... 08/17/2014 the first water in the tank.. it will take 3 days to fill it up..

Looks great, really moving along! I would replace that CFL bulbs as fast as possible with an led bulb. If it is hit and breaks I believe they contain mercury and are a pain to clean up

The water comes in from the bottom pipe and it will drain from the top... still need to buy another Japanese pump to have it installed in the sump area for water changes...

oh that bulb is just a lamp to light the area so my fiance can work on it at night time... we will use a LED light for the sump 24/7 and later will put a light around the front of the cabinet to light it up so we can clean it up but I have not found the light yet... I want a strip light (LED) and will plug it in the second set of plus in the middle of the tank... I have to see as I want to add some fans to the top of the canopy... no idea where to find them yet... I figure I start the cycling while we are working on the other stuff..hehe.. cannot wait to get it going... I keep telling myself patience... patience...hehe not working well with me.. yet..

These are the boards that the controllers and ballasts will be mounted on... They will go in front of all the pipes on the right side of the cabinet after all the plumbing are done and the auto top off is installed... I already bought the things to mount them on so I can move them if I need to get to the back in that area to clean up on the 6 month maintenance.. It will also protect all the APEX modules... etc.. I am researching the auto top off and waiting to get some extra money for it..... this hobby can be expensive..hehehe

I forgot to say that I had doors done on the side of the cabinets in case I need to remove the sump ever... or need any extra openings.. etc...
