The California 50 Gal TBS Experiment

Qwiv

Persistant Perspective
Starting another TBS thread, beacuse you all know there so cool!!!

Mine should be a little out of the norm because I am starting with a tank that has already cycled with 20 lbs of rock. (10 display + 10 sump) I am also going to experiment with (3) different ways to use TBS livesand.

I will be adding the TBS live sand to (2) sides of my refugium that has a 5" DSB. I will be mixing the TBS livesand in the display with SD for looks. I will add the Livesand over my SD DSB in the back of a nano cube, black sand in the display. We will see what happens with the set-up.
My Tanks Web Page

Here are a few picks of the tank before I get the 60 gal package, if TBS ever ships it. (Been 2 weeks, but I'm waiting patiently)

First Pictures, More to Come!!!

Well, I got the first part of the package yesterday and I must say it is amazing. These rocks already look 20x better than the LFS rocks. It is like an instant mature reef. Here are a few pics below and let me tell you, these don't show the half of it. I will post some better pics later.

BTW: The tank is full of rock because some will get moved to other tanks. I just wanted to see them all so I could pick the very best for the display tank.

So here are the pics

So far I think all the rocks are amazing with the exception of one, but you need something to go in the back. So far I have found crabs, serpent stars, a small shrimp, tons of worms and pods and things I just can't name. I will have some nice macro shots soon, PS Amonia is at .25 on the first day.
