The Commet!

Hi friends,
Just a small little question for ya all that how big a fish is big enough to be swallowed by a fully grown COMET or the marine betta?
Well I have a three inch comet with me healthy and eating mysis shrimp, but my worry is when it grows bigger which is some what between 7 to 10 inches(as per my knowledge) what fishes are in danger of ending in itââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s stomach? As I have clowns, fredmani, damsels, etc.
Thanks.

I had them a couple of different times. They are more fin than fish so do not be fooled by their size. They also do not seem to be real aggressive a smaller fish would almost have to line themselves up with their mouths. I do not think they are like Oscars or pig out. Get it eating frozen krill and it will be a long time before you have to worry.

I have heard mixed opinions on this fish.
I had one for a short while but could not get it to eat prepared foods and my Arc eye Hawkfish would devour all the live food before the Betta could even turn around. He was not full grown, perhaps4 inches and I had him with a couple of Ocellaris. He hung out in the rocks, would chase off my Solan fairy Wrasse and Flame Angel [who was very aggresive] but didn't seem too interested in the Clowns.
I would probably not house a Betta with tiny fish such as small Gobies etc..[Clown Gobies] I guess you have to follow the rule and not keep it with fish that will fit it its mouth.
I have heard others say they won't bother small fish but I would rather be safe than sorry.

They are cool, have you seen them eat live foods such as Ghost shrimp?

They're not going to shallow any of your fish, unless it's a small clown gobie they fish. What they will eat is small snail, brittle or mini stars and pods in your tank. They're actually pretty shy and usually you have to worry about the other fish nipping at their fins.

They're usually left off of the list, when people are putting together a list, of what fish they can have in their reef tank and it's a shame because they do very well in a reef tank.

Hey, thanks folks for your concern and replies. But still I am shaky to introduce this cute little fish to my 3500ltrs reef tank.
