イルカの屠殺を停止します。世界を見ている。平和を。

edit***

haha, i tried one of those online translators, and this is what it translates into roughly. "Slaughter of the dolphin is stopped. You look at the world.Peace." :)

hhahaha! I agree that it would be a good idea to know what you are faxing - I took that from Oceanic Defense web site - it means stop slaughtering the dolphins. the word is watching. ;)

you can google the string if you dont want to take my word for it... i dont want to be blamed if the embassy comes crashing through your door!

I didnt see the film but my dad said that they also did it to get the japanese mad because they were selling the tortured dolphin meat as whale meat?

The biggest problem is that they're doing it legally (technically).
Japanese law as accepted by the world is that they are allowed to kill dolphins and whales IF they are doing it for scientific research. Unfortunately, it allows them to sell the meat on the open market to make sure the animal isn't going to waste. The spirit of good is there, but they slaughter so much in the name of "Science" it's incredibly wasteful. What's worse, they've got it down to such a science that there's little anyone can do. Now, if they're doing it legally and for the right reasons, why do they need such firepower on those ships for defense? I'm not watching the video, I'm sure it'll make me sick. I'm also not faxing, I don't know who it's really going to or what it really says. There are so many more officials on the take to allow this to happen, we'll NEVER get this reversed. The whales are doomed, and until they're endangered enough that it's no longer economically feasible for them to harvest, it will not stop. What's worse, the way the Japanese market works, (and other countries and nations of course) the fewer they are and the harder to find they are, they're worth that much more. Rediculous that such an intelligent, benevolent animal is subjected to such brutality. If I was ever in my boat and witnessed it, I'd make sure and launch my boat up one of their ramps at full speed, ditching just before it went up the ramp. I'd then file a close call report and sue the company that owned the ship, not that I'd win, but I'd just make it very annoying to fish in MY waters.

ibtl .food is food. wouldnt mind if they did it humanely. dragging them alive along asphalt isnt cool.

problem is dolphin (mammal) meat has such high levels of mercury its actually completely unsafe for human consumption and yet they go out and sell the stuff off as whale, tuna, etc.

+1 why would you need the coast guard on whale boats and prohibited areas if it is all legal and for research.

Also, what research could they possibly do? Its obviously not for the safety or preservation of dolphins or whales, and how many tissue sample do you need?
