That's really interesting behavior, fun to watch! I am going to add a Wrasse. Right now I'm leaning towards a Carpenters wrasse. Beautiful fish and also supposed to be peaceful!

Yes, they are peaceful. But like firefish, are highly prone to jumping.

Here are the fish that I'm thinking of for my tank!

2 Purple Firefish (already acquired)
Goby W/Pistol Shrimp (I had a bonded pair and loved watching them)
Carpenter Flasher Wrasse
Scissortail Dartfish (compatibility issues with firefish?)
One Spot Foxface Rabbitfish
Whitespotted Pygmy Filefish, Captive-Bred ORA (I think this is a very unique looking fish)
Pair of Clowns
Coral Beauty Angelfish
Yellow tail Damsel (I want something bright blue in my tank, this is one of the less aggressive Damsel's, but I can live without it if it will cause to much discord in my tank)

I'm running 105g in my system! 700gph Overflow with a Mag 12 return pump!

That seems to be the hard part, you see something you like, but then It's not available!
 
Here is a picture of the Firefish that I thought might be the female. Since I have learned they are not easy to tell apart. The first dorsal fin is small with no purple. So could this be a juvenile stage, an exquisite firefish or just a malformed fin?

I will add that I lost my first firefish to the rock work for about a week when I got them. The one dived straight into the rocks and gone... Then after a week, I started pulling all the rocks out and found him/her lodged inside a rock. Like absolute crazy, managed to get him/her out and since then all good.
So when you do the move to dt, give them lots of time to calm down, keep them in some kind of container, to just adjust and relax...

They quite shy, typically and snuggle together under a rock at night in their little den. I just see their tails sticking out sometimes. Very sweet.
They love mysis! Get on well with the other tank mates and don't bother anyone.
They sometimes dance around each other like in a weird circular dance, I can't say if it's courtship or dominance or what kind of behavior it is.

I'm glad you were able to find it, crazy that it couldn't get out on its own. I have a container that they can hang out in for awhile before I release them into the tank, hopefully that will keep mine from a straight nosedive into the rocks!

I'm really looking forward to seeing them in my tank, but I'm also enjoying having them in the quarantine. It's fun getting them used to seeing me, especially when it's time to feed them!

They definitely have different characteristics, the smaller of the two has a less colorful and smaller first dorsal fin, I'm pretty sure that is the female. I asked Peter and I am waiting for his reply! I intend to make every effort to keep the inhabitants of my tank peaceful and happy!

Thank you! So, he sent me a fish labeled female from the collector's. This is no one's fault but my own. If I had researched more and learned that they couldn't knowingly be sexed, I would have probably ordered just one. Oh well, to late now. Hopefully the distributor has discovered something no one else has or maybe I'll just get lucky and have a male & female. Anyway, Peter answered many other questions for me and was very helpful, but from now on more research on my part! I will keep a close eye on them and separate if I need to. Lesson learned! Thanks again!!!
 
My story with firefish echo what Snorvich has already said. I bought a pair that came out of a 220g tank. I think they were a pair for about 2 years. In my tank they slept in the same hole under a rock. 3 or so months into it the larger one started chasing the smaller 1 to no end. I had a heck of a time catching it, to the point of almost letting it die. Finally got it out and now calls the main display at my LFS it's home.

I know you're not going to want to hear this but, take 1 out and give it to someone or back to the fish store. I really hope I'm wrong but 1 way or another you'll end up with just 1.

I might be placing a smaller tank upstairs, so for now I will keep both fish and move one, if I have problems. If I don't get the other tank set up in time, I might place it in my refugium temporarily or might just place it there to begin with. The refugium has sand, rock and will have lots of pods and Chaeto as soon as my tank finishes cycling, I have lots of screen, so I can make a cover for it! Thanks!
