Nice, Kevin. I started with the same design, but wasn't comfortable with how unsteady it was with forces from the side. Of course, I added more 2x4s and now its just ridiculously overbuilt.

What will you be doing for doors?

Looking good Kevin!

I hear you Mark. I built a stand for my 135g FW and was so paranoid I used 4x4s throughout. The stand all by itself probably weighs 200+lbs! Way overkill.

Keep us posted Kevin!

Sorry KMP. All the hunt buddies got together for a game feed.

Yeah, it's pretty stout. Glued and screwed all around. It started as a DIY stand from user rockwyld, but the 4x4's were in the way and took up too much space so I basically tore it apart and started from scratch. I think by the time I get skin glued/screwed on it, there's little that could tear it apart.

I don't know yet about doors... I may just use 3/8" ply and magnets or velcro. Just remove the whole front face. Probably do that until it becomes a PITA, then add doors.

And the power went out around 7:30?

Thanks for all the encouragement. Life has kept me very busy the last several days... I just tested the stand for weight bearing yesterday. 107 gallons up there.

Wow Kevin that seems to have a lot more room under the stand! I'm sure you'll find loads of stuff to keep under there. Glad to see you back on the boards. I wish you and your family the best! NOW GET A TANK ON THAT THING!!! ;)

I like how tall it is, all of my stands have been 40". Makes it a little more PIA to reach into it but veiwing is prime.

I had my sand built to 40"...I love it! I find that I need a small stool when reaching to the bottom, but other than that, it's no problem at all. It saves my back from stooping over when I'm tinkering with it all night! Looking Good Kevin! Keep us posted on the progress.
