The face behind the name Recty

It was sunny today and my little tripod carrier (or wife, depending on what's important to you ;) ) went for a walk. We took a picture and I figured I'd share, this is me! I'm the fat one in the gray shirt ;)

I took another shot I liked, actually a couple but this was really the only one that stuck out as I liked it.

I wanted to get some really streaked and nice smooth water, but the sun was so bright, even with my camera at f/22 and ISO 100, I still could only do 1/4 second shutter speed, so I couldnt really get a good blur going.

Yeah, you've already seen my face before :)

I'm not sure what the mountain is behind us. I was just beside the Knik river near Palmer and looking south at the scenery and liking it. I've never really kept much track of the mountains up here, I know the volcano names and Mckinley and that's about it.

I'm not a 100%, but I think it is Pioneer Peak. For me it was a 7 hour day (and I was in good shape). I can't remember the elevation gain but it was pretty insane. You know when you are looking DOWN on sheep that you are up there. It was pretty sketchy up there too with knife like ridges and a lot of scree. Course I am nore of a hiker so a real climber probably wouldn't even bat an eye up there. The view down the valley to the Knik Glacier was wild.

True ;)

Another shot from the area... I didnt have the energy to walk all the way down to the falls and it was getting dark so we were ready to head out, but I took a couple from up above. And yeah, it's hand held so the clarity isnt super amazing.
