The Great (or not so great) Hillbilly Reef Experiment

Two should work nice giving you several different high and medium PAR light areas.....which is a good thing:)

That makes me feel a lot better. I finally got to see some Kessils in action (other than on Youtube) when I happened across a LFS in Springfield, MO. They really looked good. I especially enjoyed the shimmer.

Dude fun build -!i am also a pharmacist in Norman ! And also have a p a tanks - I will be following along

Ah, from the land of having to count every single controlled substance in the inventory. I think about you guys every two years on May 1st.

Glad to have you on board.

looks like a fun build good luck

I'm gonna have fun.....I'm gonna have fun.....I'm gonna have fun....

I keep telling myself this. I honestly hope this becomes my new spare time passion. If I spend as much time involved as I have studying the process, I hopefully will do all right.

Hole in the wall......check.

Tank on the left. Small fuge up top and sump in the opening for easy access to skimmer, pumps, etc.

More of the same....different angle. Sometimes I have to take a deep breath and tell myself I have not gotten in over my head.

NEVER!!!
you are doing great this is going to be a nice setup:thumbsup:

This is going to be fun to watch...thanks for sharing...

YES this is def gonna be a good one :)

I hope so. I feel like I'm being different just posting about a 187g dt in this land of beautiful giants. As it is, I keep looking for ways to expand, at least within the filtration department. I looked at a 180g plastic trough at the co-op today. Made me go, "hmmm.....how could I make use of this".

Sweet job on all of the wood work!

I've had lots of help. :)

By the way Dan, many thanks at helping me think that I could actually pull this off. Any time I need inspiration, all I have to do is peruse your build for a little while. I have about four pages bookmarked so I can go back and look at some of the things you've done.

Looking good. I know how you feel with the "Tiny" displays in this section...

"1200 gallons, 1000 gallons... Oh yea, mines 180.."

I feel like my tank would work as a top off for some of the grand systems here.

I remember seeing your 29g build. You had a neat picture of a watchman goby hanging half way out of the rock. Do you have a build thread going for your 180 yet?
