dh, getting in a little fight over in the controller thread ehh. i want one for my maxis, then i could easily put 4 of the 1200 in my tank. thinking about maybe building some black acrylic boxes to hide to of the streams in, kinda like a wave box, this way i can have them mounted a little higher and not have to worry about the vortex they pull in and also wouldnt have to see them, they would just look like another overflow box on the back of the tank, but low and behold thye would be MIGHTY power houses , muhahaha.

ok well looks like one more thing i get to go and buy, black plastic, also another thing the wife wont understand why i am excited over. LOL

 I'm not sweating it Tim

Those controllers if they are as good as that guy claimed them to be would be a nice addition to the Maxi-mods no doubt. I want one too :D

A DIY wave box for the "super streams" I like it :D
Keep us updated of course on this.

i am not trying to build a DIY wavebox, would be quite easy to do though since the taam seio controllers are coming out which would enable you to have dueling boxes across the tank. all i want to build are a some covers for the maxi's. i dont mind the look of them but, if i can put a pair of them inside a little box, with the top closed so no air can be pulled into the vortex, then i would reall have the no powerhead look in my tank. a few black boxes on the back wall that look like overflows would be really nice. so i wouldnt call it a wavebox just a box to hide them in. thats all i need in my tank is more flow from waves..... stuff has to be bolted odwn as it is now.

dh, obvisouly most ppl that have seios and like them will bash on the maxi mods, since most of them , like me, didnt believe in them. but as soon as anyone is limbo on the mod feels the power from them they will be believers.

it's quite a problem when you have to try to find a spot to put one of these things even when you dont need more. but when i had my seios i was trying to find every reson to get rid of them, not enough flow, IMO, for thier bulkiness.

What is the best prop for a MJ 900. I want to keep this one compact so I want a single prop verson. I am using the 1.5" PVC

Thankx
Drew..

ok.. going through www.funrcboats.com i really dont mind the 2.99 price tag, even though locally they go for about a 1.00, but they dont stock the 35's, just the 40's.

but.... $11.18 for shipping 3 of these little props, through UPS no less? thats a little absurd. I know it says shipping costs are estimates, but, how far off can it be?

anyone order from them, and can tell me what they actually charge for shipping?

going to mod two 900;s and a 1200... get three dumas 3004 1.75? one for each.. are they still the top flowing prop? these are going in a 292 on one end would like ot have them reach 6 foot if that is possible...

Couple of questions for everyone. Noticed several people using algae magnet for mounting the maxi-streams. Are the suction cups it comes with not strong enough to hold the maxi-stream with the Strong flow. The algae magnet seems like it would be kind of pricey and bulky.

Also where can I get one of those seio mounts. Can you buy replacement mounts somewhere or do they only come with the seios.

I was thinking of fabricating my own mount with one of these. Looks like it would give you more flexibility in you could point the maxi-stream where ever you wanted. Just not sure if it would eventually move on you due to the vibration and flow. Anybody try these yet?

No. The suction cup bracket is fine to use. But some people don't like suction cups because well... As they get older, they tend to fail and have a tougher time attaching to the glass.

Boiling the old suction cups for 15 minutes will revive them.

i opted for the mag mounts because i have had far too many suction cups mounted items fall on me. the locline looks like i could work but after glueing it to the maxi and then the other end of the locline to the mag or suction cup then i think it would be longer overall than using something like the seio mount. also try asking in the want to buy forum, someone in there is bound to have some old seio mounting parts lying around. also with the locline, you wouldnt have much surface area to glue with, just a 3/4" x .100" ring on each end.

alright heres the current vid of how the maxis are working in the 180. i had to turn the penductors down alot, one is at about 30% and the other about 70% power with the excess % going to the rock rack part of the CL plumbing.

this vid is much smaller than the last one so maybe more can d/l it. i think it only like 11mb.

it took me a lot of tweeking to ge tthe flow just right, but now nothing gets ripped on too hard and everything sways back and forth, up and down , and in & out. flow is totaly random now and there is maybe one small dead spot in the whole tank.

notice the surface aggitation, the whole tank surface is turbulent and nothing is pointed up atthe surface to try to create it, just a byproduct of great flow caused by great MJ mods

Tim

Nice vid Tim. Almost sounds like there some sort of horror soundtrack music on the background?

Man that tank is nice. When it's time to upgrade I'm gonna have to look into a 180 as well.
