The July meeting

If I have evaluated the posting correctly, we have about 13 counting members and spouses and kids. Are there any others planning to come and have not posted? We need to know in order to schedule the tour(s).

Please, How about just post, for instance:

I am coming and I will bring Me and my wife. total 2

Thanks

i'm waiting for a call back from riplely's to confirm our tour dates, but here's what we're shooting for:

11:00 - meet at 7 islands nature refuge by dana's house to carpool to ripleys
1:00 pm and 2:00 pm - shooting for a behind-the-scenes tours (max 10 people per tour)
4:00 - meet up to head back to 7 islands nature refuge for picnic (douglas dam pavilion was booked for a year!)
5:00 pm - picnic

if you can't make the tour, you're still welcome to join the gang at the picnic, and vice versa.

if you can't make it to the refuge by 11:00am, you're welcome to just drive on up to ripley's aquarium, but i'm not sure if you'll get the group rate if you don't enter with the group (its on my list of questions them).

i'll be making a big pork butt and maybe brisket, so we'll have pulled pork/brisket sandwiches. everybody should bring a dish that can either be refrigerated, or left in a crock pot to keep warm while we're at ripley's

we have plenty of chips and sodas left over from the swap.

eddie has volunteered to bring baked beans.

we need an accurate head count asap, because if we have more than 20, we'll need to add another tour.

it should be fun, hope to see you there!!

me, richard, and holly (3)

Slight time adjustment. Ripley's has a program going on at 1:30, so we have reserved the 3pm and 4pm slots for the tours. so we'll meet here at noon to carpool, then should be able to make it back for a picnic by 6pm

OK, so headcount as of right now:

Modified + 3
Trimax + 1
OMreardon
Bluestarfish +1
Torq21
Mattjfishman
Seased
Digidana +3

I think reeflover101 is coming for the picnic only. Anybody else for the picnic only?

If you're signed up for Ripley's, i'm assuming that you're planning on the picnic too. just let me know if you can't make it.

So looks like we should have 16 for ripley's and the tour and 20ish for the picnic, correct?

the address here is 2800 Kelly Lane, Kodak, TN 37764, you can pm me for directions if you need to. I'm assuming that we're all meeting up at the refuge to carpool (except seased).

So, I'll see yall at noon!

Not everybody showed for Ripley's or for the eats. We had a great time just the same. Sorry so many folks were unable to attend. Thanks Dana for mastermining to whole thing. Thanks for the use of your house for the "picnic". Thanks to Richard, Alex, and Holly too.

Yea, thanks Dana!!!

The behind the scenes tour was certainly worth seeing, quite informative. My new mission in life is to infiltrate and learn the "secret salt formula"!

Thanks for being such a good hostess Dana! I had a great time and the behind the scenes was very cool even though I think we might have known more than the guide at times!

i was really impressed with the behind the scenes. i thought our "educator" was actually pretty knowledgeable. lord knows we grilled the hell out of him! can't imagine a $5K-$10K grocery bill. those danged fish eat better than we do! i loved the quarentine/mysis growing area, thought that was pretty cool
