The Latz have landed!!

My 2" CB doesn't have blue lips and my 3" CB has the blue lips starting.

Karen's clowns look just awesome! Both in color and shape.

Thanks LA. Could you tell me how old the 3" fish is? How old was it when the lips started to turn blue? Are both of your fish from the same hatch?

I'm guessing around 1 year when I got it and it had a hint of the blue at 2.5." The fish are around 1 1/2 years now and I think they are from the same batch as the markings are almost identical.

What sort of temps are you keeping these guys at? Are you still keeping them at lower temps or is anyone succesfully keeping them at "regular" reef temps since they are captive bred?

Jd, I'm keeping them between 76-78 currently. I hear the parents and all the babies were raised in similar temps.

How are your latzs doing? I am seriously considering purchasing a pair of cb and want to know as much info regarding care and requirements for these beautiful fish. Any hints, suggestions, experience you could share?

The latz continue to do well. They've been fed mysid, cyclopeeze, squid, and NLS pellets and are thriving in my tanks. I say tanks because they don't seem to like one another and are housed in two different tanks. I suppose after a few months, I will reintroduce them to each other and hopefully it will work out. As a precaution, I used Maracyn 2 and quarantined them for over a week just in case there were any internal parasites. They came out of it like champs. I'll try to post a few updated pics soon.

I also wanted to mention that these fish are a bit skittish. They really need an anemone to feel secure, imo. The latz in the main tank is paired up with a rose anemone and it only leaves its side to feed. This one seems more outgoing than the other one. The one in the nano is real skittish and hides a lot. I've been meaning to get a bta for it so it can be out in the open.
