The LFS got me again!

I've been eyeing a nice little Rose Nem for a few weeks ($80). Yesterday I stopped by (just to look of course) and I asked when it would "go on sale lol"

"tell you what, fifty bucks right now and he's yours"

Of course I had to buy it. I acclimated it, and this morning it still looks really good, in the same spot I put him in

On the flip side, the other day when I bought my GSM, (diff store, asian guy) the tank was marked "Gold Stripe Maroon - $30"

The mushroom display (really nice, I'll give him that) was priced at $25 each.

"how bout this mushroom, and the Gold Stripe for $50?"
(I thought for sure he'd hook it up...)

"NO! That price OLD! Clownfish $35, they expensive now!"

hahahaha, the GSM was a beautiful little dude, so I didn't mind, but I passed on the shrooms to show him I wasn't messin around LOL. But, I'll probably end up going and getting those too.

Good Deal! There are only 2 lfs stores here and they both get on my nerves. I want to support them, but they really make it hard. For instance, they never put prices on anything. You have to ask them about every single thing, every time. That way, they can make up the prices according to their mood that day, how much money they think you have, the position of the stars... whatever. They never tell you the same thing 2 days in a row. I'm telling you, its like the old time used car salesmen. A lot of times I want to know about an item, but I just don't feel like playing the game, so I just decide to leave, and look up prices online. Glad to hear they aren't all like that! Good luck with your new Rose!

Cool. Is he still where he was before you went camping. Mine finally settled with it's foot under a rock and wraps around to the top but my clowns don't go near it.
I got some nice swag in the form of gorgonian clippings the other day. That always feels good

okay, back from "camping" LOL
Friday night was nice, but saturday AM got super windy (right by the beach) we did a weather check and the winds showed no signs of letting up, so we packed up and just came back to town, went to a few bars, and played king's cup and passed out...

It funny, when we montioned coming home early, the first thing I thought of was "hmm, I can be back to watch my tank" haha (there are way to many stories of disasters from vacations)

Anyway, yea, the Rose is still in the same spot. his foot extended back into a small cave area, but he's still posted where I put him.

The new Gold Stripe Maroon is all up in it already. He mosies over to the B&W/GBTA on the other side occasionally, but the B&W still isn't too friendly with him. My camera is at home, the weekend was pretty busy, but I'll post some pics tonight or tomorrow

I know what you guys mean about LFSs. You gotta catch em at the right time, if they're working on a tank or something, best to leave em alone till they're bored again

The spot just seemed too good, I took your advice into a lot of consideration, but there just wasn't a good looking spot by the GBTA. I'm thinking that I may have to choose between my B&W and the GSM someday, but for now....we'll see what happens

Out of curiousity...What fish store do you go to? Also, what type of mushroom colony are you looking for? I have quite a few red mushrooms if your interested. I live in Sacramento.

Kalypso. I've been a regular since they first opened.
No specific mushrooms in mind, the ones I saw last weekend were at TWINS in Stockton.
You ever been to either? how bout a pic of the red ones?
