the miniature illcssd 240 gallon anemone tank

Ron Popeil

Love them clownfish.
so while austin is busy adding the finishing touches to his 240 gallon behemoth anemone tank, i took a gamble and added another anemone to my measily 60 gallon h. magnifica cube. last i checked this was a potential combination for his system, with a similar set up; albeit far smaller.

the anemone has been in my tank a month, sat for two weeks at the store where i purchased it beforehand, eats very well and has relatively stayed put, within a few inches or so. its only been in the last year that ive seen a number of these anemones making it to oregon stores, with most looking pitiful, as per usual. while only a brownish green, this is already a sizeable anemone, and it will be impressive to see what it can do once it gets its own tank in the near future.

there are no clowns in this tank anymore. a 9 hour power outtage while i was 80 miles away claimed my two nigripes clowns. now, with a clean slate and two very fascinating species of anemones....i dont know exactly what species to reintroduce to this tank. suggestions?

that'd be a hard call...it looks fairly 'showcase'-ish as is, you'd want the clown pair to follow suit...i'm guessing you don't want to just go w/ nigripes again?

not sure what pair i'd throw in there, but i dig the setup.

Wow jordan! Impressive!
I will update my thread soon, had some trouble and am waiting on some things to be fixed.
Where did you get that beautiful anemone? When it outgrow's your tank i will gladly put it in my cube lol.

Hi Jordan! Nice anemone there!

For some reason, I thought you had a pair of Nigripes in one of your tanks, in a different tank from the Chrys.

Hmm, lol, maybe I need to read more closely.

Best,
Ilham

I'd go w/ Nigripes again.....
then be sure to mention where you got the Nigripes from.

Nick

thanks folks.

austin, the anemone was purchased from upscales.

ilham, the 60 gallon housed the nigripes, the 45 right next to it has the chrys...who thankfully have survived.

and yeah, i think i will do nigripes again. theyre a great clown.

thanks again everyone, and austin, hurry up and get your system finished!

Please could you tell me the lighting you have for that 60 cube and how far it is from the water surface also the bulb type.
Thanks very much.

He lost them in a power outage ilham while he was gone for the weekend afaik. A local store will be getting him more i believe thoug.

Ah ok. I'm sorry to hear that, but glad the Chrys are well!

I didn't hear about this until just now. I'm sure you will find another awesome pair :)

Best,
Ilham

I have ordered a 60 g cube to do a similar thing, whats the lighting schedule you have please.
