The MJ MOd Party Sept 10th

Do any of you guys need anything from my tank? I just fragged my hammer. I can also get anything from my main tank. Just let me know since I am coming over that way tomorrow.

Also, do any of you guys have any softies that need trimmed? John...our web guy...is looking for some. I told him I would see what I could do now that his tank is ready and he has helped us out so much. He really likes the GSP or stuff like that.

Hey Bullet, I have some toadstool and finger that he can play with. Needed to trim up the TS anyway. Maybe even a chunk of cabbage. If you have any excess hammer taht you need to store in someone elses tank indefinately, I'm up for it. Always up for something different. Staghorn would be nice too. Yours is way too big! :)
Safe travels and see you about 1pm

I will brig you a piece of that hammer nucca. What staghorn are you talking about? Maybe we can work something out.....corals for an adjustment :)

Thanks so much guys for setting this up. I just put all three of the ones that I made in there and everything is gong crazy. My skimmer will be working overtime tonight. Nothing is going to settle on the bottom of my tank now :). I think I need two more and I will be set. That should put me around 10,885 gph in there :).....5 mj mods at 2K each and 3 mj1200 on the wavemaker. Ohh and plus my returns!

We will get some pictures posted here soon. Nucca tree you are a genius handyman! Thanks for all your help and letting us use your shop. If you guys come up on any other cool ideas let me in on them!

It was a great time! A lot more ideas can out than we expected and everyone was busy little beavers. I put in the two 900's in my 75g and like you said bullet, the skimmer is going to be working overtime! Wow!

Thanks to all the Modsquad for getting this set up. Einstiens for instructing in the mod and Covey for getting the tubes and showing off your wild mod evolutions. All in all, it was a great time and if anyone would like to organize anotehr sometime down the road, my shop is mostly always open.

BTW, does anyone know where I can get that epoxy that we used? I don;t remember anyone saying?

Thanks again "MJ Mod Squad"

I learned alot today, amazing how it seems simple after you see it.
There is a good readson this mod has so many pages on RC, it rocks!

Thanks,

Kevin

magnets for MJ mount

magnets for MJ mount

Here is a link to the site I bought my magnets from. http://www.magnet4less.com/
I'm going to try the smaller disks some time. I bet they would be strong enough, if not too thick of material is used to seal the magnet up. I want to try out that casting resin.

Well thanks for all the ideas...maybe I'll look at manards for some of that good, quick set epoxy.? ;)

Kevin

Was it meirs, wait no...it was mason's....um, wait no it was marvin's.

DAMN...I cant remember where we got that epoxy

Let me sleep on it.....maybe it will come to me

Had a great time with all of you today....Nucca your work on the shrouds and mounts was amazing, Covey your out of the box ideas and help with everything was awsome.

JB, Kevin, and BOB thanks for putting up with our clinic lasting a bit longer than expected.

Get ahold of Einsteins, I think he might know:D
This is your fault Billy I was talking to you about your house:p

Anyway how is everyone tank doing with all the added flow?

Wow, these baby's kick out the flow. I have the both of my pointed upwards at opposite ends of the tank and my tank is like a giant whirlpool.

I now have "Sand Dunes"!

Anyway, a big thanks to everyone involved in organizing that get together. The end result was awesome.

OK has anyone yelled UNCLE yet to stop the freakin flow from blasting though the tank walls. I set my two 900's in oppisite corners pointing to the center front wall to converge and can home after work today to find a whole new sandscape going on and some of my cral broke or just thrown across the tank. Wow. I am glad I did not do a 1200. I can just imagine! actually I think that thought would just keep me up at night.

Now it is back to my original plan of putting them on seperate timers and one will be on for 5 hours in one direction and the other will be on for another five hours seperately.

Hope all the other tanks are doing well.

One tech note, I had to cement my cap on due to the thing popping off when the pump kicks on. Just something to be aware of. These are on the 900's so a little different in design, but still the same principle.

Oh, the swivel brackets rock. I will have to get some pics and post them. Not too bad for all of $12 and that is including the magnets!

Wish I coulda came!

Nucca, you could get 2 -$5 light timers at walmart where you can have them on an hour off an hour. It might give you a better flow pattern.

That is what I was thinking, although there was another store that was mentioned...but it was named menudo, manataras...hmmm..can anyone help me out? Covey, do you know?

I had to crazy glue one of my rods into the little red plug inside the pump. I think it is because mine are pointing straight down they have a tendency to slide down. Works great now though!
