The most incredible SPS tank I've ever seen, 18' long

I thought Steve Weast had the best tank ever, this one definitely rivals it. I think it's 18' long with a curved front.

From what I gather its not a zeovit tank, but he does use zeolite and other bacterial additives. I've been surfing a lot of European websites and from what I've seen - there are some incredible zeovit tanks, but also a LOT of tanks that utilize a form of zeo filtration. Its really interesting, and there are a lot of different methods to utilize zeolites.

It uses 6,000W of HQI and daylight!

One other thing that seemed wild - I think he replaces his sandbed! I believe Tanu (a former RC TOTM) also replaces his sandbed. Actually I guess Weast does as well if I remember right - but not all at once. Maybe Tanu can comment.

The corals are nice, but Steve Weast's artful use of aquascaping is still definitely better. His tank dimensions and layout make for a very natural looking tank.

That's true but I think a tank like this gives you so much more viewable space.

All I can say is wow.

Also I is it me or is that tank made of glass? I bet the tank is bowed inward to relieve some pressure on the center of the glass. I'd hate to see how many people died trying to get that thing into the house or wherever it is.

I have talked in the past about changeing the sand to a point. What I do is everytime I make a water change every 2 weeks I clean my sand. I allow the water to settle back to a clean state which will take about 5-10 minutes of course you will lose sand. I then return that water back into my tank. Normally I lose up to 2-3 lbs of sand per month i just replace it with new sand which keeps your sand bed healthy and productive.

The wall above the tank is actually on a track system. It slides out from the tank about 3-4 feet to allow for a person to walk along the ledge on the bottom of the tank for maintenance. Pretty cool idea!

The tank is totally massive. I can't believe its made of glass. That thing had to weigh a couple of tons.
