Please vote for the zoanthid/palythoa you think is the rarest or hardest to come by. Keep in mind that 'rarest' does not mean 'favorite'. If you haven't visited the 'Rarest zoanthid List' thread, you may view that for more information. Thanks for voting!

I'm surprised the purple hornets are doing this well so far. More than a few people have them on RC.
That way they won't feel bad for the $300 a polyp purchase. :)

I didn't mean to come off harsh, I have notuiced there are at least six threads about rare zoo's in this forum as I type this. I have bought a lot of corals at wholesalers , stores , and from private reefers . I know that the whole salers I buy from get all their corals in big shipments and used to sell them by the colony size. Now they read on RC and raise the price on colonies that people want! Not because they are any more rare than any other color but simply because they can. All this hype about "rare" zoo's only drives the price higher in a hobby that is expensive enough as it is.
P.S. I did say please

Here are my Hawaiian Ding Dangs without over saturation or the use of actinics. Pure phoenix 14k.

These are two separate frags i made for some friends.

I think sopranos is the rarest zoanthid, i've seen them just one time, they're like a myth...

I've heard that a bunch of people on RC have purchased them. They died later, but the fact that they are attainable shows me they are not the rarest. The same idea applies to the purple hornets. They are nice looking, but if you look around for 15 minutes, you can find a way to attain them. Stuff like Serene Nove and PDPE to me are much rarer in my opinion because they are nearly impossible to locate let alone purchase.

i think anything from hawaii seeing how there is only one person who the state has allowed to export them. he doesnt have that many frags of his stuff either. but he still sells them at very fair rates. dealt with him a few times and is really great guy. check out his site and you will see many zoas hardly seen

sassafrass, you've made an excellent point my friend.

The only polyp I see pictured above that might be remotely considered rare are the SN's.
