The New 126 Gal

Nice to see another SoCal E-fanatic. 120xl is the perfect size, IMO. One of these days I'll convince the wife to let me upgrade...

Water Sand Rock!!!

Update time. She's purring like a kitten!

Sand and 50 ponds of Tonga Fusion rock have been added. The chiller, U.V., and Ca Reactor still need to be installed but are currently running on the other tank. The drain hose needs to be installed with filter sock and some minor tidying up needs to be done once everything else gets installed to keep things looking neat and tidy. Here are some updated shots

Update Time:

The tank has been running for about 2 months i have transferred everything from an existing 40 gal into the new tank. I experienced a brown in my SPS out due to stress i think. Im slowly starting to increase my fish load and this should help with my sps coloration too. i also started out with 20k bulbs and have switched to 10k, the 20k's didn't seem intense enough so i may have seen the browning form that too??? i like the coloration i have now form the 10 k im also supplementing with t-5 actinic and blue bulbs, i may switch to 14k but i will keep these bulbs for a little bit to let things stabilize

Is there a reason you suspended the filter sock out of the sump? Do you think that might prevent nitrates from filter socks? Or just to facilitate removal and changing of the socks?

Also, how do you get fresh water to the basin in the back? Access to the fresh water basin looks a little difficult.

Siapin- I don't think it has an affect on trates it was just the way we designed it into the aquarium for easy access and removal!

j-soler- The tank was built and ordered from Elos USA WWW.ELOSUSA.COM check out their sponser thread for more info on Elos aquarium company!

ksanmamaril- Save Up its worth the wait. You Geo metro comment made me laugh i have had a couple of pintos before this you gotta start somewhere!

How do you like your Vortechs? Do you have 1 or 2? BTW tank looks awesome. Looks like I'm going to save my $$$ for an Elos. What were the dimensions again?

Good Choice on the ELOS

I currently am running one. I also have a Tunze nano stream 6055 for a little extra flow

The area you put the aquarium looks very similar to the area where I have mine (not an Elos though)... I'm just wondering if that happened to be a wet bar at some point? If so, the plumbing should still be there in the wall. I'm just curious. Also, who built the cabinet... looks awesome!
