The new camera FINALLY arrived, here are a few shots!!

I decided to purchase a Canon T1i rebel and am thrilled with it so far, just fired it up this morning and these are some practice shots, Im trying to teach myself about blurring the depth of field in the outdoor photos, and I included some tank shots as well ...let me know where to improve and im open to suggestions on new things to try....water marked and copy right blah blah blah

Hi, I LOVE LOVE LOVE this camera, I am using the kit ( el cheapo) lens it came with.
It s all I have. Taylor, I havent seen any bad reviews on this cam, maybe I didnt look hard enough LOL , I was stuck between the nikon D90 and this one, the tipping point for me was that the D90 is way more expensive ( I got the whole kit for 699, came with everything )
This one takes HD video which you can focus(zoom in) as you video, apparently a feature that isnt on a lot of cameras I havent tried it though.
and
that I can use my ancient ( circa 1980) canon AE1 lenses with an adapter on this digital camera. The adapter just got here ( I DID see bad reviews on this) but it wasnt much money, it fit my 70-300 mm lens on the new camera just fine, I havent tried it yet, but will post the pics when I do.

I'm relieved to hear that you like it so much,
I'd love to hear a report back on the HD movie mode because that and the LiveView function are what I saw bad reviews over.

Canons SLR do the best for macros, and tend to be cheeper, but Nikon is best for under water pics. I'm a certified diver, and i love photography; I uses the nikon D60, and my dive buddy uses the Cannon Rebel. Above the water they operate about the same. Canons lenses are a lot cheaper though.

When you have these on the end of the 18-55 (Stock Lens) it makes it look like a macro lens. Depending upon your lighting... Set the camera to the Cloudy Setting for WB, use ISO 800, and Aprature around 1/100th and you should be able to get some awesome shots. With the Macro lenses it will give you the ability to put the end of the macro filter right on the glass and take the photo helping to minimize camera shake.

Macro filters a hard to use in aquariums, since you lose a bit apiture with every one you put on. If you have the $, invest in a good macro lens.
