Hello everyone! Just wanted to introduce myself.
I have had FW tanks for over 30 years and started SW close to 4 years ago.
I have a :

55g FOWLR
60 lbs LR
sixline wrass
tomato clown
algae blennie
canary wrasse
strawberry dottyback
yellow tailed damsel
peppermint shrimp
4 featherdusters
7 turbos

most recently picked up a 14g biocube and will be setting it up in a couple of days so I will be looking for lots of advice and suggestions.

My plans are to use water from my 55g . I bought 14 # LR today that is temporarily in my current tank. bought a 75watt heater and sand! Am i forgetting anything else Ineed to start cycling this tank? Also I am looking for suggestions on what i might stock it with!
thanks!

Hey Kingfisher,

Welcome. I am looking at nano's and woundering what lighting you have on yours.I am back and forth over just T5's or compacts with 1- 70 watt HQI on A 28 GAL.

I believe i will have 24 watts for a 14 gl ! I am afraid you are talking to the wrong guy , I am kind of new to lighting issues!
I have heard good things about the T5'S and 70 watt should be plenty for a 24 gl but it would probably be better to have to bulbs on your pc incase you waht to mix it up a little. Again i'm new and could be wrong!

[welcome]

if you use water from your 55 and seed your tank with some sand i see no reason to wait to long for a cycle, maybe a week.
again welcome and i can't wait to see your tank up and running
LFF

Thanks Lionfishfanatic , I can't wait either!
I have Crushed coral in my 55g and i don't think i should mix it with sand . the live rock was pretty much cured at my LFS so you are probably right . I am thinking two weeks before i start adding some mushrooms.
If I ever figure out how to format photos for this site i will attach some . My current photo shop does not format to what is required here!

Welcome KF...
There are many in the nano section here with the 14g. Don't hesitate to ask anything, you get quick responses.... good luck on the tank and all you need to do is resize your pictures (600x450 is a good size) and save them as jpg's. Use photobucket to upload to and use links or use the photo album here on the site.
take it easy.......

Excuse me , I think it is 48 watts on the lighting , at least i hope so!
It is not very clear on the description but i beieve it has a 24 watt actinic and a 24 watt daylight 10000k. That would be more in line!
should be here tuesday !
Thanks for your posts ,every one!

what do you guys think would be the first thing i should stock the tank with!
