Hey everyone. Im new to the hobby but because of some good friends Im very knowledgeable. I just started my first salt tank a about 3 weeks ago. Its a AGA 29gal with 40lbs live sand mixed with about 15lbs of crushed coral (i plan on getting some yellowhead jaws) and 35lbs live rock well equiped with and AquaC remora and an Emperor 280. For lighting i have a 2x65watt Coralife fixture. The following lists are potential inhabitants.

Fish list:
2 yellowhead jaws
1 sixline wrasse (i wish i could get a fourline)
1 longnose hawkfish
Inverts:
2 peppermint shrimp
1 cleaner shrimp
zo's
mushrooms
Cleaning Crew:
4 margarita snails
6 hermits

Tell me what you guys think and any advice would be very appreciated thanks everyone!

The hawkfish may take out your shrimp. I would add more clean up crew and skip the margaritas, they don't last long.
Welcome to RC!

Okay so i got a couple good shots...

Peppermint shrimp

The zo's and 2 peppermints were added yesterday, three weeks after my tank was first setup. Let me know what you think and as always advice would be nice. Oh and by the way i not sure on the hawk fish yet but if so he will be added last. Thanks everyone.

i love blue legged hermits, cute lil guys. i would say scratch the hawkfish just becuase there is a good chance if he ever gets hungry while your at work, that little peppermint shrimp is gone.

so i got a nice group of zo's and they were my first ever zo purchase! of course i was excited. but i noticed that a couple of the polyps didnt open and tonite i think i saw a flatworm or somthing on them so i tried to pull it out with tweezers with no luck. i did grab once with the tweezers before he got away however and he felt real hard. please everyone i need your help! any suggestions?

I dunno if its that threating but thats jst me...for the jawfish..how deep is the sandbed? Also some people have had success with2 others have not so if you want to try two i'd suggest looking for an online vendor who sells them in pairs ;)

Good Luck...also id pass on the hawk

sand is 4 inches deep and ill keep an update on the zo's they still appear to be healthy. Oh and also im hopfully getting a fourline wrasse!
