I'm in the process of replacing my old 125 with a much improved setup...
Here's a few photos of the progress:
Pic 1: The tank, stand and canopy.
The canopy is solid oak and has an open top and an open back. The front and side doors are not finished yet, so it's all open right now. The stand will also be wrapped in oak with nice oak doors, but that stuff isn't done yet.
The main lighting is 3 x 250W IceCap electronic ballasts, PFO pendants and 14K Phoenix bulbs (LOVE the color).
The Dawn/Dusk lighting is 4 x 39W TEK T5 Retros with actinic bulbs.
There are also mounts for LED moonlights, but I don't have those yet.
Pic 2: The "Control Panel"
I've mounted all of my ballasts right behind the tank (in an unfinished part of my basement. I've also mounted the Neptune DC8 and a Neptune Expansion Socket that allows me to put all my halides on a seperate circuit from the rest of my system.
The wiring isn't pretty, but it works and I tried to make it as safe as possible.
Pic 3: The New Sump
My new sump consists of a 40G breeder for the refugium and a 30L for the sump. Water coming from back from the display tank is pumped pumped into the refugium which in turn feeds my Octopus Recirc skimmer.
I still need to get a light above the refugium and I need to get my RO/DI working with an Auto Top Off unit. I also plan to have my ACJR switch between straight RO/DI and Kalk depending on the pH reading.
The RO/DI unit is from the Filter Guys (GREAT VENDOR).
It's taken me quite a while to get this setup setup and running because I've been waiting on the canopy and I've also been trying to not rush and do things right.
Hopefully I will make the jump this week and move the contents of my existing tank over.
How does it look?
