Wasn't America termed "the melting pot" for a reason? If we are going to ban all animals not native to this land, then we might as well include humans. I could see some casino owners that would appreciate getting some land back.

The intent of this Bill was "Like many others" well intentioned to prevent the influx of non-native species that have caused huge environmental issues, such as the Nutria, the zebra mussell and the now famous "flying carp" that are devestating whole sections of the Mississippi river chain.

Regretfully it is also spurred on by irresponsible people that when they grow tired of there pets, instead of humanly euthenizing them or giving them to a good home, they turn them loose in the nearest park or body of water, and yes even our oceans have experienced some of this irresponsibillity, look up "lionfish invasion" and you will see where they are showing up in areas they do not belong due to aquarist "dumping".

My son and I have caught "Oscars" in three different park lakes in the Memphis area!!!

But the bill as it is written is very mis-guided and intentionally or not very badly written, and could indeed cause our hobby to be devastated if not revised.

Please do get everyones attention on this, and instuct our representatives to vote no on this.

This much like gun laws should punish those that misuse not those that use the resource responsibly.

I actually sent an e-mail about this to a local talk radio station and will be sending one to the local t.v. station. This is absolutely ridiculous an needs to be stopped.
