ic. sorry you lost the 1st one. My stand ?'s were b/c I built my 1st stand for my acrylic tank that I just recently set-up after being out of the hobby for years and just getting back into it and know that it was a little unlevel as well. Your tank old and new looks great
If it's not too unlevel you may be ok with an acrylic tank but I would play it safe and get it right before you fill it up. Thanks for the compliments!
Now you know why I was surprised when they said they would sell it to me! It was good talking with you tonight and thanks for the intel on your system. It helped me understand some things a lot better. I really hope that chalice takes off for you. Just put some SPF 30 on it and it should be fine
Tanks been doing pretty good. Getting a fair amount of growth and things are starting to take shape. Can't wait for MACNA where I hope to find some things I can't get locally. In the meantime I have added a few new additions:
New acans
Some long skirt zoas (Eagle Eyes?)
Acro (sold as an Incredible Hulk but I don't think it is)
Acro
Acan-rotundoflora (very difficult to get the colors with my crappy camera)
Been a while between updates. Tanks changed a bit. Added a 20H sump. Pretty much all I could find to fit in the stand but at least I have somewhere to add a skimmer.
Also decided to go a different direction with the tank. Figured after close to 2 years the tank should be mature enough for an anemone.
I have removed several corals and will be removing more. Basically want the carpet to take center stage with a few (but eventually larger coral colonies. Not sure I will part with this one though
I hadn't really noticed the growth until I looked back at some of my older pics earlier. My acans are getting a good number of polyps and size. The SPS are the ones that stuck out to me. I need to get some pics of those up. Thanks.
Thanks for the bump! Really nothing new to report other than I unfortunately lost the carpet. Everything was great and then I went and changed lightbulbs and did not acclimate the nem to the light . I figured it out after it finally decided to move but my clowns went nuts when it moved and beat it up pretty good. The female was literally dragging and whipping it back to its original spot. Just a bonehead move on my part! I just didn't think T5s would do that. I felt so bad and it took a long time to find a healthy specimen. I want to try another but don't know that I will.
Everything else is going good though. Corals are growing. My SPS seem to have hit a growth spirt which has been cool to watch. Can't wait until they get some more size to them though.
Zoas are growing too. These were just 3 little polyps a few months ago:
Fat acans
My red planet and scripps growing (really bad pic):
