The pair of percula start to nibble the live rock, why?

I noticed my percula start to nibble the rock yesterday, especially male. Does this mean that the female will lay egg soon? Do I need to do anything? Can I still change the water? Thanks.

Could be clearing a spot to lay eggs.

A partial water change should not be a problem.

How soon should they lay eggs? The carpet anemone they host is just right next to the rock. Will this anemone affect the eggs? Do I need to remove it? Thanks.

Its hard to say. The anemone should not be a problem.

The anemone won't be an issue at all. My Clarkii pair lays their eggs right next to their Haddoni, which will sometime cover the eggs.

As far as the water change, should be fine. But, if this is their first time spawning I wouldn't do a water change during it -- the spawn that is.

Mine have been spawning for 6+ years now, and I can do anything to the tank while they are laying eggs. It doesn't phase them at all now.

Or they could be picking some little critters off the rocks...mine do that from time to time...is this in the same general area?
