the pump wars continue

From what I understand Tunze made a post on a German forum a long time ago admitting the numbers were flawed. This was before the "EcoTech" test ever came out. The link to the post is in one of the massive Tunze vs. Ecotech threads in the lighting/equipment forum. It kind of makes the proposed bias of the "EcoTech" test a moot point.

Tunze admitted right away that their numbers were overstated. I am sure they knew this for a long time and your article confirms it. I never bought into "oh we made some modifications but figured nothing changed." That's crazy. But what they are saying is that overstating the GPH number is a common practice and they all do it. It's just that Vortech devised a test that artificially inflated GPH numbers when turbulence is present. And since Tunze pumps produce the least amount of turbulence, only they looked terrible. It's probably not a coincidence that this particular test was used to test these pumps. I have to believe that this test was designed to crush Tunze and Vortech did a good job.

just saw this, this morning, Tunze being investigated for potential violations of consumer protection and false advertising laws

Couple of things. There is no government investigation. This is is not "being investigated" but rather a lawyer issuing a press release in an attempt to launch a class-action lawsuit. As for the lawyer and the alleged law firm, there is zero information anywhere on the internet about a "Lewis Firm PLLC" outside of this press release.

just my 2 cents, I think this "investigation" is pretty stupid, just people trying to make a quick buck off a good company.

I just bought a mp 60 and love it I'll never go back, I use to have Tunze's but after hearing about Shaun's Tunze leaching copper in his system it freaked me out, so I decided to keep one less electric cord out of my systems. Hmmm now if Vortech could only come up with a wireless heater. :)

I work in biomedical Eng. field, and its always the competitors, testing equipments [GE], cause they are the only ppl that know the corners I could have cut !

if my specs, didnt match the results, Id loose my freedom !
and Im in Canada ... GE in USA.

the point is, tunze, with its current pump size, and Voltage, and noise, can not handle the flow. so they need to make it bigger, noisier and higher Voltage, therefore false advertising and tricking the market ! when I bought my first 6105, I thought I have in my hand the new generation of engineering ! cause if you count the slots open, and measure its area, you will see that the flow advertised wontbe able to pass ! I paid the money, to own the future pump ... just to find out, I was lied to.

PS. I like my 6105, and other tunze equipments, and only mean this and said it from a pro. point of view ! how courts will look at it.
