Cool build, I have the 200 I'm loading up now with corals from a 180 I'm breaking down.
As for the flow/vortech, I think you might be surprised. I put my second of 3 vortech's in my 200 last night and had a 1.5" wave rocking the entire tank. Enough I was concerned about splashing. I think two vortech's with maybe a couple small tunze's for directional flow would work out well.
What was the light frame built out of? Any concerns with it sagging?
I built the light frame out of square aluminum tubes. There is a suspension wire that i used to attach the front end of the frame to the wall to prevent it from sagging down.
I have a tank I am getting ready to setup right now but might scratch that for one of these. It is the perfect dimension. Did you ever consider T5's? Just wondering. I like the idea of 1 400w bulb but just wondering about the spread on a 36"x36" area. Do you habe any pics with the light on? Thanks
Looks pretty sweet. Do you plan on enclosing the light fixture into some sort of canopy? Also will there be any actinics running? I assume it is a 400watt? I like the way this is turing out. Man I want a nice cubed aquarium now.
I thought about t5's but i just like the looks of metal halides. The spread on the light is great. I will post pics with the lights on later tonight. I'm still debating on whether or not to add actinics. Think i'm leaning more towards the led light clusters.
