The reason why my house glows blue at night

Hey guy, Thought I would post a few photos sharing my tank build/progression. I will keep it short with the exception to answer any questions. We are here to waste time at work looking at photos after all right?:D

The tank is a red sea S650, roughly 60x25x25. It has 4 sicce pumps, 11 gallon ATO, and coast to coast overflow box built in the back.

Good to see some photos. Looks like you need a few tangs.

Some old photos bud, no way that thing is still that empty! I was just taking the thread slow.
A powder blue, convict, mimic lemon, and yellow eye khole reside in the tang.... I mean tank. :lolspin:

That's a nice tank! I want to build a coast to coast on a 40 breeder.

Coast to coast is the way to go, especially if you rock something like a ghost overflow to not take up all that space.

Nice Brittany (oh, and tank too!)!
Thank you, he is my supervisor and aquarium quality assurance!

Hey there, I have the exact same tank!

Mine is still dry, waiting for rock to cure.
It is a great tank! Sometimes I wish they didn't do the faux back and that space was display. But I do like that feature at the same time. Gosh I sound picky hah.
What are you doing for a cure?

I really wish the tank offered more depth also. I'd rather the height be lower, but being able to hide the extra pumps and the ato design seems solid.

I am dealing with dry Pukani from brs. It has lots of phosphate bound up that is really hard to get low initially. I've had my rock curing since Feb 10 and adding seaklear phosphate remover every other day or so. My last test showed my level at 0.25, so still a ways to go. My goal is to get the rock and water in the tank by April 9.

Whoa the paint job on that stand man!!!
I got the same rock from the same place. Acid dipped and then bleached it, sat it out in the sun for a few days, obvious rinsing, freshwater baths, and started cycle for a few weeks to get bacteria going and help with tank cycle.
A bit of work but faster, worth it imo

Awesome tank build... Yeah my front windows glow blue from my 2 tanks with 6 bulb T5/Reefbrite lights over them.. I have 3 cops in my neighbor hood and had to reassure them I was just a fish dork

Where did you get colored pvc? love the orange!

just an idea, place a black sheet of acrylic on the side of the refugium, it will limit light from hitting the skimmer compartment (help with algae growth on skimmer)
