The reason why we dip..

The wonderful sea spider that loves to munch on whatever your favorite coral is -- they leave the brown ones alone and go for the most expensive piece in the tank -- I think they might be born pregnant :-)

And what about quarantine? Finding something scares me because of the possibility of eggs :(

According to the reefkeeping write up on them the male carrys the eggs on them. "Most" need 2 to tango. http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2003-01/rs/

I put this in the garage/sump refugium because i dont have a suitable coral Qt system. But reading that link above i feel comfortable that there wont be any more.

Wow ugly. Is that a Zoa Spider?

Not sure, the link also states that most prey on corals, mainly soft corals and anemones. With some that only ate Aptasia.

The spiders definitely eat acropora as well - they start at the bottom and can completely strip the tissue killing the acropora.

I hate these little punks. There are a few variety's. Me and Jeff just battled them. Mine were all white but body wise looked the same. Pretty much if you found them on a frag of sps then there is a reason. They are eating them. Interceptor finally did the trick.
