Normally I do a 10-15% water change at 30-45days
I do not use balling anymore, now I have a Ca reactor and I dossing no3 to get 2-4mg/l because I don't have nitrate in my sistem, also sometime I put and little po4 if my phosphate level go below 0.02
Occasionally I use amino acids, iron and potassium if I see pale colors
