The Skimmer

I got the big a.. euroreef running. 2 sp5's and it didn't do a thing. 12-2 body I was very disappointed and freaking out. well it turned out there was way too much water going through and out so I recirulated one of the pumps and feed with the other and it was instant crazy. I had to lower the outlet pipe about 4 inches or better and it is still extremely wet skimmate. good thing it can go lower. I may have to sell it though because it may not fit under my stand. all depends if I can get a piece of 3/4 inch plywood under the tank on the stand. it is sitting there and can't ever seem to find the four men and couple boys it takes to lift the tank so I may just sell it and get a smaller skimmer. so if you know anyone looking for a massive skimmer let me know. not positive yet but it may have to go.

Steve,

You did a great job building that skimmer. Awesome work.

Ted,

I second Rob. I want to see that bad boy cranking out some foam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheers,
Chris

ted can't you ever leave that room alone? ;) everytime I see it it's a total remodel. skimmer looks like it's working.

Rob, My wife says you got to rearange things every once in a while. She always changing the furniture around. The chiller has a leak, and the freon is low. need to find the leak, and repair, and recharge. No big deal. I'll find an AC tech up here, that needs a little side work. As you can see Steve did a bang up job on the skimmer. This thing really kicks out the foam. I'm verry happy with the way it turned out. One of these days I'll get the support room finished. I still have to close in my stand too. It is a never ending project. Ted

do you have a leak detector? it may be the flare's and you can try to tighten them a bit. that titanium is so hard to get sealed. hope it's not the titanium weld inside did you weld that or the welding shop? I am in the middle of a bunch of stuff right now but maybe in a few weeks I can swing up and check it out for you.

I have a GE leak detector, but you know I can't climb a ladder. I don't think it's the coil,it was pressure tested to 4oo psi. I'll see if one of the other ANCHOR members up here can give me a hand. I would hate for you to have to drive all the way up here. Thanks Ted

I haven't seen your tank in a year or 2 anyway. if you find the leak first I will know what to bring also. if not I will pack everything up just in case.

Ted/Steve,

Thanks for posting the pictures. That skimmer skimming away looks awesome.

Ted, I am going to have to stop by one day. Maybe after my move. Things are crazy now just getting ready to list the house, etc....

Good luck,
Chris

My chiller has 2 leaks. #1 is at the schrader valve( hot gas),and the #2 leak is at the coil connection flare fitting (hot gas) . The schrader core wasn't tight. I think I corrected that problem, but I can't seem to be able to get the flare fitting tight enough. Ted

you mean liquid I think . anyway we may have to recover the refrigerant and replace that washer in there sometimes the don't seal no matter what. I think we leak checked it didn't we or did I get called into work before we got a chance? anyway I will see what I can do to get up there in the next couple weeks. did you top it off to keep it running? wouldn't want to over heat the compressor by letting it run low. I know you know this just a reminder.
robert
