That's what makes it all worth it, you might have to tweek but I don't think I've ever made anything that worked the first time without having to change something. your video looked great.
i just wonder whats gonna happen with all that water going through it?will the drum even spin?it was only tested with a little giant md 5.5 pump, which is nothing compared to the dart.its only going to have one O-ring,potential for leaks,we shall see.i think the next big buy for me will be the dart so i can test the valve with the pump, before i get it on the tank.
the sump is complete.i moved a few baffles around after mflamb suggested i do.my return section is kind of small but im only going to run about 700gph through the sump so i think it will be fine.
here are the milled slots.
oh wait,it isnt done yet i have to add one filter sock holder and drill for my pump inlet.
That is sooooooo nice! The milled slots are so clean and VERY professional, I can't believe how clean the cuts are - nice. I'm very impressed. did you add the additional baffle and not remove it? If so, that's what I would have done also. Where will the pump inlet go- back or side?
i used all my baffles,i just moved one to a different location.the pump inlet will be on the back of the sump.the slots were cut with a 4 flute 1/4" dia mill bit.
yeah its holding fine.maui is a she.oh it is a small world reefartist.remember i told you the guy i work with lived right down the road?do you or your friend know a nadeen that just moved from down the street?i work with her husband lol.
It is a small world, my friend went to high school with nadeen and I think her husband - that is wild. You know more about my neighbors then I do - LOL.
Off subject about sumps but this is a question about acrylic. What do you think about making a canopy from acrylic? Mainly a simple design but I was wondering if anyone has seen one - I have a few designs and just wanted to know if it would be an option. I know acrylic comes in a lot of colors - what do you think?
acrylic will work for you.it can be bent,i would avoid trying to make a curve.the only thing i dont like about the acrylic hood is that it wont match the stand.i was actually going to make my hood and stand out of aluminum and acrylic, but scrapped the idea because of cost.warnberg which cuts are you referring to?the saw cuts were made with a 60 tooth carbide blade(brand new)as for the slots they were milled with a 1/4" mill bit.
