grim, i have a 6 bulb retro fit in my canopy over a 75 gallon tank. i plan on have zoas, hammers, frogspawn, rics, maybe a clam or two and was wondering what the best bulbs are for this. i dont mind it being blueish but also want the best color out of the corals with the best growth too... thank you

I am planning on ordering a 48" 8 bulb Tek fixture and would like to add the bulbs on to my order. What bulb combo do you recommend to get the best growth, yet makes the corals look good? I prefer the 14-15K look, so not too blue. TIA!

Based on that advice, How about this combination.. looking for max coloration out of my sps, but I hate the light blue windex look.

i have a 50 gallon and plan to purchase t5 set-up for it. its height is 12 inches. which bulb set up would be better 4 or 6 bulbs i have plans to make it an sps tank in the future,primarily(spelling?)montipora.

Blue Plus in place of the actinic and Coral Plus in place of the Aquablue

Beware that is some color preference here that varies between individuals. I would do the Blue Plus in place of the Atinic first. Then see how you like. The Aqua Blue is a mid point between a GE 6500K and the coral Plus. The Coral Plus being the buest full spectrum bulb and the GE the brightest full spectrum bulb. With your other bulbs there will very little difference in coral growth between these three bulbs.

For SPS you want as much light as possible don;t even consider the 4 bulb fixture. First choice for me would be an 8 but a quality 6 bulb fixture would meet your needs.

Bulbs
for 6 go with 4 ATI Blue Plus, 1 ATI Purple Plus, 1 ATI aqua Blue.

for 8 bulbs go with 6 ATI blue plus, 1 ATI Purple Plus, 1 GE 6500K

hey grimm i have a 120g 48x24x24 mix reef tank i am running t5 8x54w bulbs replacing new ones any suggestions have 2 12k 3 atinic blues 2 super blues and 1 sun day what should i get and how do i arrange them and thanks

My overall tank is too blue, but a GE6500 instead of the the aquablue special is too yellow.
How Can I get that medium point, in between the brightness and clarity of the aquablue special and GE6500?

And will the coral plus bring out yellows like the aquablue special does?

Bulbs look good to my eye. Might try 3 blue+ and a Fiji purple soon. I set it up with a blue+ & Fiji purple for dusk/dawn at first and it's kinda neat. I ended up changing it back to all blues but left it blue/Fiji for my other tank so I can enjoy both dusk/dawn effects.
