ATI powermodule

ATI powermodule

I have the 8x39wt fixture, tonight the 2 lights on its own power cord that I use for dusk to dawn stopped working.
I tried plugging them into a different outlet, I also switched bulbs around, and they still don't work. Is this a bad ballast and if so is it hard to replace?

Ok.....another question with my ATI PM 10 x 80w fixture on my sps tank.

I am running: 6-Blue+, 2-Purple+ and 2-Coral+.

Of these bulbs, what creates the best Dawn-to-Dusk setup on #'s 3 & 8?

Front.....

Right now I have a Purple+ and a Coral+ coming on in the 3 & 8 position and the color is just ok IMHO.

Any advice is appreciate........

Blue plus and purple plus or 2 blue plus. I'd personally dump 2 of your bulbs for actinics and use those for dusk dawn

That's my guess. It isn't easy by any means but you can do it.

I want to start putting SPS corals in my tank.

Hi Ryan,
Time for new bulbs, I have an 8x39 powermodule. what would you suggest for color pop and growth with using Actinics

Thanks

Yes, both of you are correct.....I am very nervous about running that ATI fixture in my canopy. Like I mentioned, I literally got a killer deal for this fixture and there was no way I could find a 48" PM so I had to grab a factor second 60".

To that end, I will have to keep an eye on the temperature within the canopy and may look into boring side vents on the canopy. The back end of teh canopy is fully opened and the top of the canopy has (3) 6" vents with (3) 75 cfm vans venting out. But I will definitely have to keep a tight eye on the temp factor.

I am very paranoid about removing the canopy because this is a TV room and used extensively by my family. Light spillage is a MAJOR concern for me.

Do you think with (3) exhaust fans on the top and a completely opened back I will be fine?

Also, I ran my MH's (750watts in total) for 8.5 hours and my VHO's for 11 hours......what should be my total run time on the ATI PM?

Many thanks.........

You will probably run through a period of adjusting your lighting times to meet with your viewing needs and the corals requrirements. But considering your set up I would start with running your dawn to dusk circuit for 12 hours per day, and the mid day circuit for 7 hours. Some things to keep in mind is that the ideal is to have a minimum of 8 hours of darkness (with the exception of a minimium amount of moon lights) but 12 hours of darkness is even more of an ideal. Simularly 8 hours of mid day lighting is also the ideal but could be extended considerably or shortened slightly to adjust for the quantity.

Corals need a photosynthesis (lights on) and and a respration(lights off) period. Ideally these are close to equal time periods. But with very strong lighting the lights on period can be reduced or with weak lighting the lights off perior can be reduced. If either of these periods goes under 8 hours there is usualy a prorblem developed from inedaquate light (low growth) or excessive light (coral bleaching).

That will be extremely white. Definitely don't need 2 purple and 2 10k. I'd pick up another blue and one actinic.

3 blue, 2 actinic, 1 purple, 2 coral plus. Grab an extra blue to play with.

I have a 4 bulb Tek fixture and was looking for a bulb configuration recommendation. I would like the tank to be nice and bright with good color pop. Maybe around the 14k look?

Thanks!

I am about to setup a saltwater tank. I just bought a used nova extreme pro 6 bulb fixture. Was wondering what bulbs would be best to use. I am not gonna do SPS, I mainly want zoas and some LPS. Thanks

There is no best combo just some that look better than others.
A combo that will make LPS And zoas pop is.
2 ATI actinic
3 ATI blue+
1 ATI purple plus

Why is RTparty and a few other now going back to the old ATINC bulbs now. The ATI BLUE PLUS covers that atinic 420nm range very well as well as adds light into the also needed 460 nm range.

the only real use I see for Atinic T-5's today is as a boast to the short frequencies with LED lights. Royal blues peak at 454 and produce very little light at the 420 range. True Blues peak at 460 and give a very blue look. But the atinics simply target the 420 range while the Blue Plus T-5's cover the range nicely between 400 and 540.

Read back a few pages. I've already stated why.

so i am ready to order my bulbs,i have a 8x80 ati going over a 180g sps only...i currently use 250w 14k pheonix bulbs...i like the color of them and would like to stay pretty close to it...i would like to stick with ati bulbs so can i get help on bulb recomendation please....thanks

Im guessing the switch back to super actinic bulbs is for color purposes. I guess you can get away with that in an 8 bulb fixture or if you only have lps (or easy sps) with a 6 bulb. Im grabbing for as much par as I can with the 2 b+ bulbs to help boost growth. I can see how you might like the 2 B+,2 SA, 2 C+,2 P+ look. I may have to switch it up and see how my corals respond to the less par...I have to order bulbs by april anyways...whats a couple extra bulbs?
