Dear Grim,
Long time Reader =) Got a new finnex Fixture on my 15G, and it comes with 4 24w and 9 High output blue LED's. I currently have zoa's and SPS in the tank and am not really happy with the color of the current setup. It's stock bulbs except for one Geissemen Pure Actinic+ I had. I want a nice florescent color to the tank, but still with some crisp white look. Similar to what you get with Radium bulbs and VHO's (example is this months tank of the month) Any suggestions would help
THANKS!

Use a couple ATI Blue Plus in the mix with the pure actinic and a 10K or daylight lamp

For sure!

I'm currently running 3 ATI B+'s in my setup as recommended by Grimm, but im afraid that if I swap out 1 UVL AW and 1 ATI AB Spc my tank will be too blue!

Trying to achieve a Radium 20k feel  Right now it feels a bit too much of a 15K feel

My fav combo is the (3) Blue + and (1) Actinic Wht. Love it. The color rendering is perfect to my eye with that combo. Nice pop and nothing is washed out. I tried an Aquablue special in place of the AW and it was just too blue, colors were very washed out with blue. I tried (2) Blue+, Aquablue and a Super Actinic. Still had that washed out look.
I had a UVL 75/25 lying around so I tried that in place of the AW. So, (3) Blue+ and the 75/25. NICE. A tad more blue, seems to be a deeper color blue also, and it retains the nice color rendering and pop. The rock and coral really stand out from the tank. Which is what I want. This is all over a 10g nano with a hand full of SPS in there. I'm going to run with it for awhile and see how things respond.

Give a 75/25 a shot in place of the AW. You'll probably love it. ;)

What you have would be OK for growth but for growth and looks

6 ATI Blue Plus or Giesemann Actinic Plus
2 ATI or Giesemann Aquablue
2 KZ Fiji Purple or UVL Actinic White

I'm building a four lamp Aquaillumination retrofit, with 12 three watt white 6500K led lights down the center. The tank is a 40gal breader mix reef. what light combination would look best?

I am new to the T5 club can someone tell me how to get reds to look red,Greens to look Green,Yellows to look Yellow,Blues to look Blue,Oranges to look orange, etc, etc. It seems that if you want blue then you have to sacrifice yellow and so on.Is it possible to really get true colors??????

Hey Grim,

Right now I have two 250 XM 20k DE bulbs, with two 12k Aquablue Specials. It's time for me to replace the T5s; I'd like to keep the same white-ish look on the tank (rather than blue), just wondering if there are any T5s that are better for coral growth (with keeping the same or a similar amount of white in the tank).

Thanks!
