The tank I'm talking about is a standard 30. It's 36"x12" not sure of the depth, but it's not drilled so I have a hang on filter which gives me about 9-10" of room to work with. I'll take a look at that link you gave me. There's just so much info out there half the time I don't know where to start or who to trust so thanks for giving me a good place to start

What would the recommendation be for a 72" Aquaticnics Constellation be? Its a 7 bulb configuration and the tank has a clam, some SPS, and softies. Thx, this is an awesome thread.

Hey Grim, is this what you'd typically recommend for a 6 bulb NEP fixture for a standard 75g(48" x 18" x 21") tank? I dont plan on keeping any of the high light SPS and generally dont prefer SPS but I do have a few near the top of the tank.

Nova Sundial or Tek 4 lamp either one would work fine.

You could get by with any of the good 6 lamp fixtures.

Grimm, I have a solana tank (20" x20"x20") and i have an ATI Sunpower 6x24w with mainly SPS and acans...water condition is within acceptable parameters... but i am not getting the color out of my acros... i would really like suggestions as to what is goin on! thank you so much in advance

Wow....this tread is amazing......beeing new to the hobby I never realized there were so many ways to setup your lighting. If I may ask a dumb question as I scanned through several pages and didn't see my exact setup.

I have a 65 gallon tank w/ canopy that is currently running compact florececents. I'm wanting to run over driven T-5's I'm planning on a reto kit with I thought 4 bulbs. My goal for now is to have a mixed reef tank w/anemone and I was wondering what the best light combo was?

I am going to swap out the MHs on my 210 with a new TEK 60" 8 bulb fixture. No SPS anymore, just LPS and zoas. The tank is standard dimension 210. Was running three 250W MH and VHO actinic. Would like to get a bit more pop out of my zoas and looking at the following bulb combinations.

Hi Grim, I am considering to buy new lamps for my old T5 fixtures with 8x54W lamps combination. The problem here is the only bulb selection available locally is from ATI such as ABS, AB+, ATI PRO and Actinic Blue. Can you please help provide the best combination for those bulbs ?

note: I may consider Giesemann Powerchrome series, KZ Fiji Purple and KZ Coral Light which available overseas (need to buy those online) if you think they may give better result.

I'm running 2 X 250w Phoenix 14k HQIs with VHO UVL 454 and actinic plus for supplemental lighting. The supplemental lighting is really dim for sun up/sun down and I was thinking about adding a 2 X 54 watt retrofit kit. What T5 bulbs would go well to run along side the VHO for sun up/sun down to help brighten it up and make it look more normal (not so much under a black light).
