I am changing my bulbs...too much yellow in my current bulb scheme.
how is this mix:

- 4 ATI Aquablue
- 2 KZ Fiji purple or ATI Purple?
- 2 GE 6500k

I would probably run 8 ATI Blue Plus, 2 GE6500k and 2 ATI Purple Plus.

It takes 3 to 4 blue bulbs to tone down the GE bulbs. They are harsh but awesome to use when you have enough bulbs. You could order a couple Aquablue plus if you want to play around.

There is no K value attached to them. They are a purple-pink color.
The K values are overrated and shouldn't be used when discussing bulbs IMO.

It all depends on what color you shoot for. Even though I don't like the K value for an individual bulb, it works well on an entire setup.
If you want a 20k look then go with the 4 Blue Plus and 2 Purple Plus. If you want it slightly whiter, go with a GE6500k instead of one of the Purples.

Ha, that's it. Wasn't sure if it was there or the Monkey. I don't mind people knowing, I just try not to advertise. Thats my fun time.

30" tall? If so I would go with a 4x24 ATI Powermodule. You could raise most kinds of corals properly placed.

Depends what kind of a look you want. 4 Blue Plus and 4 GE 6500K in each would be a good shallow water look. 5 Blue Plus and 3 GE's for a little more blue and so on.

Hey guys. So I've recently returned to the reef world after a one year hiatus. I've searched through the thread but it's been difficult to find exactly what I'm looking for. I just bought a used Red Sea Max 250 and want to replace all six T5s. I'm looking for more of a white look that accents the reds but with a hint of blue. Most I've seen look a bit too blue for my taste. Any ideas on a suggested arrangement? Any recommendations for vendors? Any help would be appreciated greatly. Thank you!

3 ATI Blue Plus, 2 ATI Purple Plus and a GE 6500K Blue Front and rear, other than that doesn't matter much. Reefgeek is as good a place as any to buy from.

After 2 years of Metal Halide over my 180 Gallon, I'm going back to T5's for the new tank.
The tank is 36" L x 37" W x 18" T
The tank is going to be 95% SPS, and I want the freedom to place sps all the way to the bottom of the tank if possible.
How do these fixtures compare? Should I go with a 6 or 8 bulb (if available)?
36" ATI Sunpower 8x39Watt $550ish
36" ATI Powdermodule 8x39 Watt $830ish
36" Tek Elite 6x39 Watt $310ish
If I can get away with6 bulbs I'd obviously be looking at the 6 bulb version of the fixtures above. Doesn't look like the 36" Tek Elite comes in an 8 bulb configuration, so that is ruled out if 8 bulbs is necessary.
I'm starting to think 8 bulbs will be necessary due to the more square dimensions of the tank I'm getting. Gotta confirm with the experts first though!

8 and if you want to utilize the sandbed out front 10. Either ATI fixture will work.

UVL 25/75
back ATI Blue +
Full SPS 40g breeder. Like the color because it's not to blue but not to white and doesn't look yellow but would like to get a little better grouth out of the corals. Its kinda slow well actuly it's really slow.
And yes I wish I had the 6 bulb teck unit but i don't
Was maybe thanking doing the 50/50 thing? 2 blue + and 2 Aqua blue specials. Really want the corals to have good color. But then again doesn't everyone. Lol
