Anyone every heard of 15" T5s?

Current makes some 18" ones but I am not aware of anything shorter that will work for aquariums.

ATI Blue Plus and either the ATI Aquablue or KZ Fiji Purple. If you run the purple you may or may not see a slight purple caste to the light but pink and purple critters will show up way better with it.

Thanks! I just ordered them and will get them in next week. I'll post back with first impressions. Is there a break-in period- will the first color I see be the true color?

Im running 8, t-5 54 watt 48 inch bulbs on my 120 g tank.

2. day lights 48" T5 HO Bulb 54 watts (10K Daylight) Current USA

2. 48" T5 HO Bulb 54 watts (Fiji Purple) by Korallen-Zucht

2. 48" T5 HO Bulb 54 watts (12k Aqua Blue Special)
manufactured by ATI

2.48" T5 HO Bulb 54 watts (460 nm Actinic)
manufactured by Current USA


I was planning to get the same brands i got listed above or should i go with oruvh2ology bulbs or is there any better quality ones you recommend and do you recommend instead of 8 to put 10 in the 120 g tank. Thanks

I want to get a 4 x 36" lamp icecap retrofit kit to put inside my canopy on my 72" 125 tank. I will be doing this to supplement 3x150w 20k MHs. Which T5 bulbs and colors should I get?

Try reversing the order of the Aquablue and Fiji but yeah, should work.

If you like the color you have now I would do 2 Fiji Purple, 1 ATI Aquablue, 1 GE 6500K Daylight and 4 ATI Blue Plus. It's going to be a little more blue, give you a lot more pop and have higher PAR.

I would do Aquablues behind the halides and Blue Plus in front, all ATI Brand. It will actually give you a boost in PAR and brighten up the look a little.

I got word back from the vendor about those dual t5 end caps they are 3'' from center of each end cap, so they would appear to be a cost effective retrofit component. Not sure the quality of course ?

I got my quote back from Reefgeek and it is unbeatable think I will pull the trigger this weekend

Can you take a look at these pics and advise a bulb combo? This is my friends tank and its time for him to change the bulbs in his 24" fixture. We think its a little to blue and dull.

Try 2 Blue Plus, a UVL Actinic White and a GE 6500K Daylight

but while your still here, how do you feel about this combo on a 6x54w ati sunpower over a 90 gallon mixed reef. sps up top and lps down low. i haven't ordered anything yet but im about to make a move so i figured i would check with the pro. any opinion would be awesome.

Hi there, Just a quick question. My next door neighbour is having a new tank which is 72 X24 X 30 inches dimension, very similar to mine. I myself am a LED person and he is not having any off it lol. He is intending to keep mostly SPS and few LPS too and asked me to find out what would be the best option when it comes to choose T5 54watt bulbs. He is already in possession of four twin DALI ballasts by osram and looking for the best combination which is best for coral growth and pleasing to the eyes too.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

I am not a fan of T5 Actinics. I prefer using more blue plus lamps and then using 2 daylight type lamps to add in red and yellow spectrum. If you want a more subdued blue look what you listed will be fine. Pink, purple and yellow items in the tank wont appear as bright.
