Hey grim, I had ordered the tec 6x54 like you told me and the order of lights like you said I should arrange them. It hasn't come in yet but should be here by tomm. Do I need to acclimate my tank to this new light fixture and if so how?

Just watch your critters. I would try 10 to 12 hours of dusk/dawn and start with 3 or 4 hours of midday

EDIT: The Windowscreen idea is good too

Converting 16" Bowfront to nano reef

any lighting options that will keep the integrated hood look of the tank. Not sure wife will tolerate much of a messy/wired look since the tank is in the kitchen.

I am looking for some help i am setting up a new tank and i want to go t5. The tank is going to be 148cm x 90cm x 60cm. I was thinking of using 12 x 54w t5 retrofitted. I am still undecided on which reflectors to use i am not sure whether to go with some ATI reflectors used in the powermodule or some proline ones by Reflekta.

I am looking at stocking mainly SPS and was wondering if you could recommend a bulb combination for this. I have access to ATI, AQUASCIENCE, KZ, GE, NARVA and Giesseman bulbs ideally i would like good growth with a white/blue look. I would like to keep bulb cost down but dont want to lose growth.

Thanks for any help you can provide

ATI does have retrofit reflectors and they are the best i've tested.

For 12 lamps I would use 8 ATI Blue Plus, 2 KZ Fiji Purple and 2 either GE 6500K Daylights or 2 Giesemann Aquablue (they are less blue than the ATI version) Grab a extra Aquablue and maybe Fiji purple so you can experiment.

I have a 75 Gallon RR tank and have a IceCap 660. I am going to switch to T5 and I am looking for a little bit bluer tint to the tank. I am doing an all softie tank. the tank is 48x22x22 (standard Oceanic 75). Will this give me little bit bluer look

ATI Blue Plus
UVL 75/25
ATI Aquablue
UVL Super Actinic

Thanks

Hey Grim, What do you mean dusk/Dawn for about 10 to 12 hours and then 3 to 4 mid day? Sorry I dont' really understand the lingo.

Yeah but I think I would do a second blue plus in place of the super actinic.

Should be plenty of light. Use an actinic in the mix so you don't fry anything :D

Front
ATI Blue Plus
UVL 75/25
ATI Aquablue
UVL Super Actinic is what I would try.

i can find ATI bulbs but not UVL in Canada (at least in my area).
is there another name or brand you would recommend? perhaps Korallen-zucht , URI?

Dusk/dawn is what you call it when you run just a couple blue or actinic lamps to simulate early morning late afternoon light before and after the "white" lights that are your midday lamps meant to simulate the brightest part of the day.

Could still be called URI up there. If you can get Ice Cap lamps the deepwater is the same thing. Other than that the Fiji Purple will work
