The T5 Q&a Thread

Yes I now have two Whites and two Blues all ATI bulbs. I was comparing the ATI Blues with Aquaticlife Blues and there is no comparison in brightness. ATI wins hands down. So does brightness directly relate to PAR? The ATI is significantly brighter than the AquaticLife so I am thinking that I have increased my PAR.

It can but not always, your eyes can play tricks on you but if both lamps are roughly the same color the brighter one will have more PAR. You need to think intensity. A white lamp will look brighter but might not be as intense as a blue lamp so the blue will have higher PAR.

Ok, makes sense. So when are you going to be ready to sell me your older Apogee so you can buy your self the newest model?

Grim,

this is my final I think, is this ok or too strong for a 40G Breeder?

24'' HO T5 Fluorescent Aquarium 4 bulbs (2 white 2 blue 96 watt) 10000k daylight should be good enough for JBJ nano 28G to keep SPS and clams?

I have a 39gal 36x12.5x20, I have a 4x36" t5
I my lights are paired an would like a dawn/dusk with using two and full sun using all four
I would like to bring out purples/ greens and yellows staying as white as I can.
any recomendation besides more light :-) That will come but not for awhile

I have a 29 gallon aquarium with a 30" sundial. I currently have my bulbs arranged like this:
Back
Blue +
GE 6500
Super Actinic
Blue +
Front

I think this is too blue and am going to be purchasing new bulbs very soon. I was wondering if this combination would be good:
Back
Indigo Sun
454
Actinic White
Super Actinic
Front

If not, what would be good? I want it to be in the 12k-14k range, but not too blue. Also, should I get the internal reflector bulbs or the ones without reflectors? This is becasue the reflectors in the sundial are not the best, nor full reflectors for that matter. Thanks

Grim appreciate the feedback in advance.
I have a 225 Acrylic 72x24x30 looking @ TEK 60" 6x80 for softie and LPS (handful of SPS possible). Could you please suggest bulbs and config. Want corals to pop (greens, yellows, reds), dusk/dawn, without going too blue.

Hi Grim,

I am finally taking the plunge! Going 8 bulb ATI PM from 400 watters.

Where I will be buying can only get ATI and aquascience for bulbs. Can you suggest bulb combo that can mimic either radium or phoenix bulbs? Many thanks!

I would look into getting the internal reflected bulbs on that fixture. I wuold change the combo though.

I'd want a ATI Sunpower if that tank is more than about 20" tall. More than 16 I would want a Tek and in either case use good lamps, 2 ATI Blue Plus 1 ATI Aquablue and 1 KZ Fiji Purple

Should be good. Little less blue but not a bunch

Grab an aquablue as a spare in case you think the above is too blue
