i been runing on 40 breeder

i like the look but some of my mushrooms dont care for the brightness of the white bulbs or the frogspawns or the torch coral i want to keep sps happy though. would it be ok to replace maybe one aquablue special with a 75/25 so maybe its not as bright but overall still have enough par.in the pic the mushrooms are usally twice the size if i run more blue bulbs but dont want to sacrafice light for the sps corals mostly montis milli and a few acros

Be worth a try. Color should be better anyway.

I am not sure I understand your question.

How many bulbs so you have?

It looks to me like 10. You want 5 Blue Plus and 5 Aquablue?

I wouldn't go that direction if I were you. I would run 6 ATI Blue Plus, 2 ATI Aquablue and 2 KZ Fiji Purple.

Hope I answered your question.

Forgive my English is bad!
It 'a lamp 6x39, so I wanted to put Bluplus 1 and 5 AquaBlue!
What do you think? or what would you do in my place?
Thank you!

I would do either 4 ATI Blue Plus, 1 ATI Aquablue and 1 KZ Fiji Purple or 3 Blue Plus, 2 Aquablue and 1 Fiji Purple.

The Aquablue bulb is terrible for colors. It really tends to wash things out if you don't have more blue in the setup.

Thanks Ryan, you're very kind!
One more question, I do not think too much blue light? 4 ATI Blue Plus ATI AquaBlue 1 and 1 KZ Fiji Purple or Blue Plus 3, 2 and 1 AquaBlue Fiji Purple.
I am sure that the blue has a higher penetration in the water, coral growth and therefore more valuable, but our view is that put Bluplus 4 or 3, you believe that the optical effect of the viewer is too blue?
Sorry but having a ceiling light LED currently not I realize how it can be a combination of T5 tubes ....( I hope that the new T5 arrivals this week, that's why I'm studying above)
Thanks

Hey Grim my local Craigslist has a bunch of the Hydroponics 8x54w four foot fixtures for sale. Do you know
how they compare to the Tek fixtures. They are grow lights with individual reflectors. If I run the same bulbs
as the Tek fixture would they be about the same?

Grim..

I just bought a 46 Bow that came with the Nova Extreme Pro T-5 system. My last few tanks had halides and I'm wondering if I can keep any type of coral under this T-5 system or should I look at getting the halides again? Right now it has:

3 ATI Blue Plus bulbs
UVL White Actinic - Although this looks pinkish to me
Giesemann Aquablue+ that looks white
UVL Super Actinic F39/60 (this and 1 of the blue plus bulbs are the dusk/dawn)

How do those bulbs look and should I make any changes for coral growth? The guy i bought it from said the colors were great but he got no growth. Not sure if this was the lights or one of many other issues. Thanks for your help

Grim- QUick question. I've had the above setup now for 2+ weeks. I used cycled water and all my parameters are perfect. I have coral in the tank but the SPS look bleached. Polyps are coming out very nicely but no color. When the actinics are on all the colors come out very nicely on the Zoas, frogspawn, Green birdnest, and peach digi. The green digitata always looks brown. All are at the top (sps). I reduced the amount of time my main lights were on from 9 hours to 7. How can I get the look i do with actinics on during the day and still get growth? Should I switch out a bulb or 2?

grim:

time to change bulbs. i have a 6 bulb nova extreme fixture on a 65g (36"x18x24 deep)

I keep a bunch of sps, acans and zoas. i am looking for the best color mainly.

bulb selection:
ATI
UV
Gisemann
ice cap

also what light schedule do you recomend i run with the new bulbs?

Thanks!

If the price is about the same the quality will probably be about the same.

Dump the Actinic lamp for another Blue Plus. Increase dusk dawn to about 10 hours and the rest down to about 4 hours and give it a month or so before increasing the times.
