Time to change the lights on my 10 bulb ATI Powermodule. 24" deep with SPS on top half and softies on the bottom. Wanting a 14K-20k look but also growth. Here is what I was thinking about ordering.

Front
ATI Blue+
UVL 75/25
ATI Blue+
UVL Super Actinic
KZ Fiji Purple
UVL Super Actinic
GE 6500
ATI Blue+
UVL 75/25
ATI Blue+

Suggestions please. Also suggestions for 1 or 2 additional bulbs to change out.

Should be fine.

Grim. I've got a 40 gallon long, no plans to upgrade soon but I can imagine going to a 48" 75 gallon. Looking at getting a 48" fixture from AquaticLife. 2 Questions -
1) 4 bulbs, or 6? I have a torch, a candy cane, some zoa's and a star polyp. Would like to add an anemone and possibly a clam down the road. Want to have enough light for now, but want to avoid bleaching what I currently have.

2) Keep the bulbs, or switch em out - and if so - to what?

PS Im a noob. Tank is 3 months old. Currently have 2, 2 bulb 24" fixtures. Old enough and wise enough to not be rushing. So - that's it to start. Thoughts?

Hey wondering what bulb set up I need for my 120g tank 48x24x24.I have 8 bulb t5 set up with two icecap 660's.It going to be a mixed reef with mostly sps. Btw I was about to run a radium set up 2 -250w.So im looking for a color combo that makes my corals pop like radiums

I set up a tank recently. Had 6 ATI Blue+ and 6 Aquablue special. I changed out 3 Aquablues for the KZ Fiji Purple. Before and after pictures

First of all I would probably use ATI Blue Plus instead of the super blues, both lamps are made by sylvania so I doubt there is much difference other than price.

Grim,
Just got my 8 X 80 Powermodule in today. Going to be hanging it soon. This 8 X 80 will be over a standard brick style 150G. (60" X 24" X 24") How high off the water would you suggest I start at for acclimation? Also how high off the water would you suggest I remain at for long term?

Thanks for your advice,
David

I got my hands on the new ATi tubes. Purple plus. It's the 2nd tube from the front. Looks kinda purple/lavender color similar to KZ Fiji Purple.

Hey Grim,

I'm getting an Elos Planet X which has two 10K led strips in the middle with two T5s on each side. All four T5s will be powered together and independent of the LEDs. My question is bulb selection. I was thinking of the following front to back:

ATI Blue +(front)
ATI 12K Aquablue special
KZ Fiji Purple
ATI Blue +(back)

The bulb I am wondering about the most is the 12K Aquablue special. I don't even have the fixture yet, so I'm not really sure how the LEDs will look or how bright they will be. I feel sure they will need some help to make the tank look more blue and the corals pop.

Thanks for your help!

If you want a clam you need a Tek fixture at a minimum. 6 lamp ATI Sunpower would be best.

4 ATI Blue Plus, 1 UVL Actinic White and a GE 6500K Daylight are the lamps I'd run.

I'd start around 6 inches and just see how things go.

Going to be upgrading to a 75 Gal 48"Lx18"Wx21"T from a current sunpod 29 cube. Mostly Soft corals, but I do have three Turbinaria Corals, and one Flower Pot (Goniopora lobata). All four are growing and I am curious what more than the following would I need to add to keep it that way:

2 54W 48" Marine-GLO bulbs
2 54W 48" Power-GLO bulbs

I will be making my own canopy hood, Thank you for your time.

Should be fine for SPS, I believe its 2nd and 7th for Dusk/dawn, if I am wrong try to get either the Fiji and a Blue Plus or 2 Blue Plus for dusk/dawn

Grim,
On the PM 8X80 it is the 3rd and 6th bulb used for dusk/dawn so here is how I installed the bulbs. Your comments please on this arrangement...
